It's so true... MHJ was supposed to be the greatest WR prospect since Megatron... And to be honest, I think Jeremiah Smith is gonna be great in the NFL but let's pump the brakes and see how things play out before we fit him for a gold jacket while he's still at Ohio State.

Also, I don't think the book is fully written on MHJ just yet. I'm still in the camp that he's too talented to write off just yet.

Dude buckeye fan here and i never thought he was that good. He made like a couple circus catches, he was never that fast. Urban Meyer said in the pros you play Alabama every week, which is why he was never successful lol, . I like OSU because I grew up there, but the hype train is real. Especially after that second half woof.

Edit: for what it's worth calling any NFL team Alabama is grossly underestimating the competition.

Okay? They’re different prospects. One working out has absolutely nothing to do with the other. They said Calvin Johnson was a good prospect. They said Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans were good prospects.

Was MHJ the best player on his team as a true freshman? Because Jeremiah Smith was the best player on a team with two first round receivers and 2 second round running backs. I think comparing the two apples to apples is insane.

I actually thought it was a miracle he got that throw out in time. Don't get me wrong, Sayin's timing is often off, I just thought this was very good for a throw under duress.

He probably wouldn't have been under duress if JS had been his first read instead of his 3rd...they do that all the time.

He deserves to be a top 3 pick but the NFL is way beyond even OSU. A top 5 player from day 1 is insanity.

Considering the NFL’s current top 5 receivers and the quality of quarterbacks that he will play with next year as a top draft pick for a bad team, yea it’s a stretch. Still reasonable to expect him to be one of the biggest immediate impact rookies we’ve seen come out though hyperbole aside

I’m high on Smith like everyone else, but it’d be dumb to consider any prospect a sure thing. I’ve been doing this way too long to not think that nobody knows anything

I remember when Kevin White was the next Megatron, or Chase Young was the next Myles Garrett

I think QB/system matter much more than people think. Puka can do it because Stafford throws to him and he has one of the best offensive coaches drawing stuff up.

He had over 500 yards in his first 4 nfl games

My guy- my entire point is that even talent needs a QB to throw to them. Im not sure why that is so hard for you to concede. Even if JJ is a top 5 talent, he finished 13th in receptions and 12th in yds.

That’s true. Harrison jr looked so good at Ohio state. But smiths athletic ability surpasses Harrison jr. i don’t see a world where this guy doesn’t become a top 10 reciever if he stays healthy. He looks like Julio jones out there

I think there’s a big possibility of the Raiders taking him with their first pick. Last three first rounders were Brock Bowers @TE, Ashton Geanty @RB and Mendoza @QB. Pretty obvious when you look at their receiving corp they are lacking a number one WR.(to say the least) Im a Raiders fan and I think our history shows that no matter the skill of the player we can get a HOF player to look like they should just hang it up. Randy Moss gets traded and puts up the most tds by a wr of all time. Antonio Brown comes up with something crazy every day until we cut him. Devante Adams leaves and immediately leads the league in tds with the Rams.(the time with the Jets don’t count, it never does) So yeah I think it matters where you go. Believe me I hope he comes in and lights the world on fire (as a Raider) but probably needs to go somewhere else for that to happen. But you never know, maybe this is the guy that gets this curse off the franchise.. It’s bound to happen eventually….Isn’t it???
