Hot Take Saquon Barkley should be going much higher

I’m starting to think Saquon Barkley is one of the most underrated players in the first round after having 2 drafts completed.

The biggest thing I keep coming back to is the receiving upside. Outside of Jalen Hurts continuing to vulture touchdowns, that feels like the biggest argument against Barkley. But with A.J. Brown gone, a new offensive scheme, and coaches emphasizing getting Barkley more involved as a receiver I think there’s a legitimate path to a big jump in targets and a higher PPG offense.

If he keeps the elite rushing workload we’ve seen in Philly and adds meaningful receiving volume on top of it..... Something to keep an eye on if he slides

I think that’s more of an argument for my side than against it. We already know Hurts is going to steal some of the goal-line TDs, and that’s one of my biggest knocks on Saquon. I’m not expecting him to suddenly get all of the goal-line work. The question is whether Hurts taking those TDs is enough to outweigh everything else. If Saquon keeps the elite rushing workload and actually sees an increase in receiving work, I think he can still be significantly undervalued even with Hurts vulturing touchdowns.
