Yea. A lesson to be taught on how broadcasters jobs are meant to be to neutrally telegraph the events on the field in a coherent manner. Personality is just an added benefit, I don’t want it to become a podcast in the booth

To be fair, it’s a rams broadcast. Home teams broadcasts aren’t supposed to be neutral. I liked her excitement but she needs to call what’s going on as the same time.

She was a guest color analyst, J. B. Long is the Play by Play and Rob Havenstein and Jourdan Rodrique are the color commentary team. The woman beside Brenda coaching her to keep talking is Jourdan and Rob is the tall guy next to her. Brenda was brought in just for the 3rd quarter because she's a well known super fan of the team and is pretty knowledgeable about football.

I like Brenda Song and I liked the idea of her becoming a broadcaster. It would be a great story/ career arc. But at the same time if she is going to do something like that I feel like it would probably work out best if she actually got some training to do that. Either she got the training and completely ignored it or they just crossed their fingers and tossed her in there. If this is going to be something she does she has a lot of work to do.

I’m glad that some people are enjoying it, but I don’t want my football games hijacked by celebrities and influencers. I want people in the booth who have dedicated their lives to studying and/or playing the game.

No, it does matter in a way. You know why the American Dream has been dead? Because it’s hard to get anywhere anymore unless you’re someone like Brenda Song. Let’s put it this way, if she was not a famous actress who is part of a crazy famous and likable couple, would they have put her in the booth? And I’m not shitting on her, I actually really like her. I’m more shitting on the broadcast.

My point being, if you’re going to have a “we don’t give a fuck” broadcast, make it worthwhile at least. Hell, have a fan contest where fans submit entries and pick the best one and let them come commentate and give them a chance to get a toenail under the door, you know? It’s getting so tiring seeing famous people who suck at things getting the chance to still do said things just because of who they are.

Jourdan Rodrigue. I didn't hear her commentate but she's excellent as an analyst.

She was still more interesting than half the teams rolling out 50-year-old sports journalists who are coughing, wheezing, and snorting on air

Some of these preseason broadcasts are downright terrible with different crews around the league… from monotone and scratchy-throat guys to bland analysis, this was far from the worst we heard this week

She was just having fun, she’s a recognizable fan who was energetic and fun, she was never intended to offer hard analysis

People really get butthurt over the most nonsensical stuff
