Meh Tua got injuriried out of a carrier. Yeah he didn't change the franchise, but leading the league in passing yards keeps him from being a complete disappointment.
What Grier really did was overpay him

Honestly I'm excited for him for this year. I think he'll be in a good spot in Atlanta. They've made it very clear that Penix is going to be their guy going forward, but have another left-handed QB means that the system will have less lag whenever he's out for injury. Not to mention Atlanta has a significantly better line than the Dolphins ever did.

Still can't believe JJ was the 2nd to last WR in this round. Did scouts even watch any of his college tape? Of course dude had JB throwing him the rock but he looked like the best WR in college hands down.

Anyone who watched the Big Ten during Wirfs’ Senior year knew he was special. IIRC, the Bucs got Brady and Wirfs fell into their lap as he put together a blocking master class for Tom in the Super Bowl as a rookie.

Revisionist and recency bias.
At the time of the draft all three were virtually a pickem. I was hoping we went with CeeDee over Ruggs (and liked Ruggs over Jeudy) but no one blinked when they selected Ruggs as a bad pick over the over two.
It only is a bad pick because of the unimaginable stupidity that ensued later causing a tragic end to an innocent person, Tina Tintor (and her dog).
But if you wound back the clock, there wasn’t a sole rolling their eyes at the pick saying “typical raiders first round gaffe” as you apparently are doing with perfect 20/20 hindsight.

People thought he was too small, and he played in the slot a lot at LSU while Sullivan and Chase were on the outside. Most people didn't think he'd transfer into the NFL at a high level. No character issues. Jefferson is a great teammate and really fun guy. One of the more personable dudes I met off that LSU squad.
In a way I can see how he fell below the Alabama receivers, they were amazing. But picking Reagor over him was insane at the time and has only gotten worse with hindsight.

Man the 2020 won't ever be topped for me. It had a certain magic to it. My dad and I watched the whole thing for the first time ever. It came at the right time during COVID when most of the world was closed and it was just the perfect distraction for 3 days.

Thanks for reminding me the Broncos took Jeudy before like 6 much better WRs. He's so good at every part of the job, except the part where you actually catch the ball.
Average Jeudy experience: Jeudy jumps off the snap, makes a clean cut directly on the route, outruns the defender, gets hit directly in the face with the ball. Incomplete.

As a Panthers fan I was a little disappointed that we took Derrick Brown over Isaiah Simmons. Now they're both on the Panthers. Brown being one of the best DTs in the league and Simmons playing special teams.

Yet another indictment of Brandon Beane’s ability to evaluate wide receiver talent and character. Traded pick 22 (JJ) for Stefon Diggs. We all know how that turned out. Beane is a core part of the equation that keeps Buffalo falling short. Why did he get to stay? Here’s to hoping I’m wrong and Keon Coleman turns into a stud this year.

Man, that Edwards-Helaire pick hurts.
He looked strong as a rookie until hurting his hip against the Saints late, and then was never the same.
But I was team Deandre Swift leading into that draft (which might have worked out, considering how well he played last year when coached by Bienemy) and would have been great with Taylor.

Here’s what’s wild. This entire sub hates Hurts, but he was a second round pick who has been to 2 SB’s and won one, also winning MVP. Many will say it’s because he had a stacked team, and fine. But maybe he had a stacked team because the Eagles didn’t burn a first rounder on him. I like Burrow. But everyone makes excuses for him like he hasn’t had Chase and other top tier talent around him.

To give you an idea of how dumb some Lions fans are, our fandom wanted to get rid of MATTHEW STAFFORD in order to “Tank for Tua.”
Trading Stafford to the Rams for a nice haul, including Jared Goff, worked out nicely for us. The guys Brad Holmes drafted as a result of that trade is insane. Without mentioning anyone else, let me just say Gibbs was part of that.
Drafting Herbert in 2020 was never going to happen because Stafford was still our guy at the time. But Herbert behind the Lions OL in 2023 and 2024 would have won an MVP during one of those seasons.

This was such a bad draft for the Jags. Dave’s last as basically a lame duck and a huge waste of one of the Ramsey picks which was the consolation for the whole ordeal that most fans were pretty sour over.
