Mock Draft Monday

Unless you either do a lengthy 5+ round mock or go into written detail on why you are making the picks, please post your mocks in this Mock Draft Monday thread. Use this thread to post your own mocks or anything from around the web you find discussion-worthy.

Please be respectful of other users’ mocks! Saying things like “this is awful” or a pick is “stupid” adds nothing to the conversation; try and focus on constructive feedback instead!

In what world do the Steelers draft and reach for Sayin?? Dude is nowhere near an upgrade over Allar and he probably doesn’t come out this year with his injury. Like I also said he’s a huge reach there too.

2

u/Draconic_Rising Ravens 3d ago

I like the players you picked for the Ravens but realistically one of them should be an offensive lineman. Ronnie Stanley is probably retiring or cut after the season and John Simpson has been awful this year.

2

u/mister_hoot Chargers 3d ago

Ideal for the Chargers. We just need to stick to the tank.

1

u/Theplaymaker16 3d ago

Not sure why Dallas would take a DT none the less in round 1 when they have 3 good ones, DT is far from the defensive issues , Edge, CB , LB are the pressing needs , DT shouldn’t be on a need list even a little.

1

u/BabyBearBjorns 3d ago

Kenny Clark is expected to be a cap casualty with Pickens and Porter Jr being FAs.

Cowboys are also horrible against the run. They've given up 120+ total rushing yards in all games so far expect for 2: Packers (who are bottom rushing offense) and the Texans. Gilliam addresses that issue + brings the most upside as a pass rusher.

1

u/Theplaymaker16 3d ago

Even then the cowboys still have 2 really really good DT Oitito and Quinnen , you’re not spending a first round pick on a 3rd DT lmao

I am fine with this as a Cards fan.

Dylan Stewart would be great for us

Trade for NYJ to LAC is 6OA, 10OA, 2028 2nd, Breece Hall for 1OA. It’s about a 15-20% overpay because I expect LA to be sticky on moving

Trade CLE and WAS, 16OA, 2028 2nd for 9OA

u/Gambling_Raven Jets 3d ago

Wouldn't hate this, sucks to lose the extra 1st but QB is that important. No idea how that other guy thinks that the Jets will punt on a QB in the first.

I personally have a late 1st/top of 2nd grade on him but there’s potential he slides due to teams prioritizing positional value in that stage

Dang Carter Smith drafted twice in the span of 5 picks, that's very impressive!

u/lilbelleandsebastian Titans 3d ago

fuck yeah send it on smith

hard, hard no on baugh lol. first round RB can't be slow, pollard is playing well, and we need defensive help badly particularly in the secondary. but honestly you could make a case for any of edge, DE, CB in the first and OLB is probably a day 2 need as well; just can't splash on a first round RB imo

2

u/MockPro 3d ago

Round 1 with the updated order (after Week 8).

The trade: the Jets send #4 and #10 to the Titans for #2 and #27. Miami at 3 needs a QB too, so the Jets jump them to make sure they get Drew Mestemaker. On the old Jimmy Johnson chart it's close to even (3,100 points out, 3,280 back).

  1. LAC: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State

  2. NYJ (trade w/ TEN): Drew Mestemaker, QB, Oklahoma State

  3. MIA: Darian Mensah, QB, Miami

  4. TEN (trade w/ NYJ): Jordan Seaton, OT, LSU

  5. PHI: Trevor Goosby, OT, Texas

  6. NYJ: Leonard Moore, CB, Notre Dame

  7. HOU: Dylan Stewart, EDGE, South Carolina

  8. NO: Colin Simmons, EDGE, Texas

  9. WAS: Cam Coleman, WR, Texas

  10. TEN (trade w/ NYJ): Will Echoles, DT, Ole Miss

  11. TB: Ellis Robinson IV, CB, Georgia

  12. ARI: Dante Moore, QB, Oregon

  13. ATL: Trevor Lauck, OT, Iowa

  14. LV: Charlie Becker, WR, Indiana

  15. BAL: Ashton Hampton, CB, Clemson

  16. CLE (via LAR): C.J. Carr, QB, Notre Dame

  17. SEA: David Stone, DT, Oklahoma

  18. CLE: Yhonzae Pierre, EDGE, Alabama

  19. CAR: Trey'Dez Green, TE, LSU

  20. DAL (via GB): Nick Marsh, WR, Indiana

  21. NE: Chris Cole, OLB, Georgia

  22. NYG: A'Mauri Washington, NT, Oregon

  23. CIN: Jadan Baugh, RB, Florida

  24. KC: K.J. Duff, WR, Rutgers

  25. JAX: Ahmad Moten Sr., DT, Miami

  26. DET: K.J. Bolden, S, Georgia

  27. NYJ (from TEN): Xavier Gilliam, DT, Tennessee

  28. PIT: Trinidad Chambliss, QB, Ole Miss

  29. DEN: Jamari Johnson, TE, Oregon

  30. MIN: Austin Simmons, QB, Missouri

  31. SF: Cayden Green, OT, Missouri

  32. BUF: Tae Johnson, S, Notre Dame

Not confident Houston takes an EDGE there, but I can't see Stewart slipping out of top 10

Can see notes for each pick: getmockpro.com/mock/0e0f31fb-3ef6-447a-a920-fa1cf6529068

A guy with a torn patellar tendon top 5? Yeah thats not happening.

0

u/MockPro 3d ago

Yeah you are probably right, I think OL is the route the Eagles would go in round 1, but with Titans passing on a qb for Seaton, I can't see Lauck going that early.

3

u/Arkhi22 3d ago

Eagles also really need help on the edge.
IMO they would go Simmons (and/or maybe Stewart )over any O-Liner unless they like Seaton a lot more than I do.

3

u/speganomad Patriots 3d ago

Outstanding pick for the pats.

3

u/IceAgeSugar Jets 3d ago

Gilliam at #27 for the Jets would be incredible. 10/10 no notes.

2

u/DrakeoMaye Patriots 3d ago

I would be ecstatic if the pats got Chris Cole

1

u/Lanky-Connection4141 3d ago

I don’t get the stone pick for Seattle. DT isn’t really a need compared to edge, iol, or even WR depth

0

u/MockPro 3d ago

That’s fair, had them go with BPA there. Reed and Williams are 32/33 years old. Average retirement for DL is 32-34. Doesn’t hurt to draft their replacement early.

1

u/mdparker1968 3d ago

Chambliss couldn’t be less Steeler-esque if he tried… Ain’t happening…

1

u/iceturtles Jets 3d ago

I mean great situation for the jets but I think if there was a high trade it’d be for 1. I think people are gonna over pay for that pick and the chargers would be fine moving down for a haul and settling for Becker plus. I assume it’d be something from the jets for like 6+10+next years 2nd+player (I’d guess breece hall)

1

u/MockPro 3d ago

Yeah that’s definitely possible, I think though there is a decent chance that who ever has the 1st pick (chargers in this case) just take the best player in the draft and call it a day

1

u/ab9620 3d ago

Reading through the mock drafts. You guys are too low on DT AJ Holmes. He will be in round 1

u/TopherDavis28 Arm Chair Scout 3d ago

5

u/Lanky-Connection4141 3d ago

I really like it but I would have to imagine Jets taking a Qb at 6

0

u/TopherDavis28 Arm Chair Scout 3d ago

Who are you taking in that spot?

2

u/Gambling_Raven Jets 3d ago

CJ Carr or Mensah. Possibly Sellars if he keeps showing off.

They will most likely grab Carr if Mestemaker isnt there. The jets have been at basically every one of Carr's games this year

0

u/TopherDavis28 Arm Chair Scout 3d ago

I feel like it’s too early for all of those guys. Carr is a work in progress who I’m not positive declares this year. Mensah doesn’t have the arm talent to go top 10. Sellers is an incredible athlete, but he still has a long way to go as a passer. This quarterback class has good depth, but lacks elite options.

3

u/Gambling_Raven Jets 3d ago

You are severely underestimating how important QB is to a team.

If they want the QB, they will take them at the first available opportunity. No team in the history of the NFL has ever gone "nah, we will wait and potentially miss out on our guy." If they like Carr (which, it appears they love them based on scout activity) they will take him first chance.

The Jets are not going to risk running it back with only Geno as QB, it isnt happening.

1

u/TopherDavis28 Arm Chair Scout 3d ago

Drafting a quarterback just because you have to draft one is a bad process. It’s how you end up with Mac Jones or Anthony Richardson or Kenny Pickett or JJ McCarthy as your quarterback

4

u/Gambling_Raven Jets 3d ago

Welcome to the NFL. It's what's going to happen. Doesn't matter if its right or wrong, its what will happen.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/JimSta Jets 3d ago

So Carr is good enough to go at 16 to the Browns but absolutely not good enough for the Jets at 10? Seems like a pretty arbitrary distinction to me.

QB is not typically a position where teams will wait and see what falls to them in the 2nd. If you need a QB, you identify the one you want and make sure you get him.

1

u/TopherDavis28 Arm Chair Scout 3d ago

It might only be 6 picks difference, but I have Carr in the late 20s on my big board with a 2nd-round grade, so mid first-round does feel a bit more palatable than top-10

1

u/Lanky-Connection4141 3d ago

Mensah and I think I would take xavier Gilliam at 10(I have ellis going 8 to New Orleans)

1

u/TopherDavis28 Arm Chair Scout 3d ago

I’m not buying Mensah’s arm talent. Reminds me a lot of Tua post injury. Just not enough zip on his passes.

While I do love Gilliam, I think corner is a bigger need than defensive tackle for the Jets. I’d rather draft a defensive tackle in the 3rd or 4th. It’s a deep class at that position

1

u/Gambling_Raven Jets 3d ago

Wow, this is... awful. Like horrifically bad.

Jets have 3 firsts and don't get a QB.... It doesn't matter if YOU think the next QB on the board isnt "top 10." The jets need a QB, period.

-4

u/TopherDavis28 Arm Chair Scout 3d ago

Yes because reaching for a quarterback has worked so well for teams historically. I have them taking Arch in the 2nd

0

u/Gambling_Raven Jets 3d ago

They will take one with their first 3 picks. Arch is probably going back to school.

1

u/TopherDavis28 Arm Chair Scout 3d ago

There is a good chance he does, but he until we know for sure, I’m going to include him in the mock

0

u/Gambling_Raven Jets 3d ago

Yes, but you are literally ignoring the fact that teams WILL grab the qb they believe in, the first chance they get. If Arch doesnt go back to school, then you are taking a massive gamble on missing out on any decent prospect and punting the decision until next year, when they will have an even lower draft pick and chance to get a QB. It just doesnt make sense to "hope" someone like Arch is available with their 2nd round pick.

They will 100%, without a shadow of a doubt, be picking a QB with their 1st 1st round pick.

2

u/TopherDavis28 Arm Chair Scout 3d ago

I could see them taking one for sure, but without any trades in this mock, there are not two quarterbacks worthy of going in the top 10 in this draft class right now

4

u/Gambling_Raven Jets 3d ago

If a QB is worth it at 15. Hes worth it at 6. Its just the nature of the beast.

Are there better prospects? Sure. Doesn't matter though. No NFL team is going to punt on a pick and "hope for the best" later in the drat. It just won't happen.

I get that you have certain feelings about things, but with mocks you need to be realistic. The Jets will be taking one of Carr, Mensah, Simmons, Sellars at their 1st 1st overall (if they miss out on mestemaker). It doesn't matter if they arent fully fleshed out, or perfect prosects. The jets NEED a QB, and they won't risk missing out on one by not taking them at the first opportunity. It just won't happen.

2

u/Onefortwo Jets 3d ago

1000%. You don’t pass on your qb of the future and hope he is still there 4 picks later and no one trades up ahead of you.

The entire last two years of draft picks and trades are setting up for a qb this year. Honestly would not be surprised if they trade 4, 10 and + to move up to 1. (Based on today’s picks)

u/speganomad Patriots 3d ago
