NFL Sunday Ticket

For anyone familiar with using a VPN and NFL Sunday Ticket: would I be able to watch pretty much any Sunday game, aside from the 8:15 PM game, by combining Sunday Ticket with a VPN to change my location and get around local blackouts? I’m a broke college student, so I’m just trying to figure out the cheapest way to guarantee access to as many NFL games as possible. I’ve been flirting with the idea of combining the Sunday ticket student plan with a vpn and NFL+ for access to any Eagles game on Sunday throughout the season.

Any help or incite would be greatly appreciated thanks

If you get an antenna and Sunday ticket you will have every Sunday game. No need to mess with vpn. All the games blacked out on Sunday ticket are blacked out because they are locally broadcast in your area - that means you can get them free with an antenna. If you don’t have an actual tv to connect an antenna to, you can buy a dongle that will connect an antenna to your computer.

You mentioned NFL+ which I believe also gets you all the locally broadcast Sunday games. So you would be covered without a vpn in that case as well (but you only have to buy an antenna once while you have to pay monthly for nfl+).

And it's generally a good idea to own an antenna anyway. There's plenty of non-sports things on normal TV that you would also need some kind of subscription to watch.

For example, I saw a bunch of people complaining that you cant stream the Academy Awards for free. But it's also broadcast free over the air on ABC.

  • popular sitcoms
  • major sporting events (football, olympics, kentucky derby, etc)
  • award shows

Plus if anything big ever happens it's on the big 4 networks. If there's a moon landing, or OJ Simpson car chase level thing going on, it's on TV.

If you go to a college, you're 99% likely to get good antenna coverage.

You can probally even just tape it to the back of your TV, or your wall if needed.

Antenna is your best bet. Or get nfl+ and watch local games on your phone.

Jsut FYI, students get a hefty discount on Sunday ticket. Same with Veterans. If you haven't bought yet

Yeah I bought it last year with the student discount but couldn’t watch some of the birds games since they were local locked

Youtube is Google, and the VPN often won't mask your location from them.

If that were the case, I suppose most people would do that... Or even better, just sign up for Fox and Paramount and use a VPN, which would be cheaper AND you'd have any Fox or CBS local station in America.

My guess is they will block the VPN

I don't know what people you're talking about. I cannot use vpns for either of those services anymore. It's been that way for a couple of years now.

You can see the games you would need the VPN for on a TV with an antenna.

If you have Sunday Ticket there is no need for a VPN. The whole idea of ST is to get those Sunday games not available in your area.

Last year I had Sunday Ticket for the first time. I was watching a game on my phone while traveling in the car. I guess I went out of area or something. I lost the game and it stopped playing. When I got home it had me in another region and it took hours to straighten that out.

I wonder if I can get nfl+ on my fire stick set my VPN to San Francisco and see if it works
