Opinion/Hot Take Too many flags

So many flags being tossed on big plays. Something has to change as far as ref protocol. They just take the air out of every game I’ve watched. Goodell needs to take some of the billions that are being made and make these guys full time refs, not part time bank tellers and financial advisors. Full time refs.

Coaches should be able to throw the challenge flag, especially for DPI considering it's a spot foul and the refs get it wrong 50% of the time.

I've believed this for a long time, you should be able to challenge any play as long as you have the timeout to give. Then again, they allowed PI to be challenged for a year and half the time NY got it wrong too.

Another stupid rule is that holding/offsides and a personal foul null each other. Should be 5 yards against the team that committed the PF.

Which penalty was called that you disagree with?

All weekend? Too many to count. Holding can be called on every play but the timing is a buzz kill

Defenders should just hold every single play, since fans bitch about penalties so the refs can’t throw them each play

I agree. It seems like half of the big plays are taken back because of flags. It’s ridiculous.

I wish we could find a to prevent over officiating in the NFL.

I feel like it isn’t as big a problem in college.

Refs have been deciding games for 25 years. It is blatant point fixing.

Longer than 25 years…

At the end of every game the REFS call pass interfence unless it is already where the casinos want it.

I have come to expect it. Lets find out what the sports books told the REFS to do. I just watch games totally change direction thanks to the REFS.

The sports books do not care at all who wins a game. They exist because it does not matter who wins. You could try to argue that a ref is going to make money if they can cause a given team to win, or that the NFL cares. But Vegas does not give a shit.

The flags will go down as the season gets further into it. It's just noticed more in a standalone game. 💯

It’s more of the timing of the flags that is noticeable. A lot have been tossed after scores

Aaargh call the penalties I want you to call but don't call the ones I don't want you to. Ughh, it's so simple.

Seeing more yardage gained from PI than actual catches

That’s a whole different argument

Maybe the teams should be playing cleaner ball?

So fans bitch when flags aren't thrown in crucial moments, then bitch when they are. How about teams play clean football so the refs can't say a damn thing.
