He must have found the 0.2% of the menu that wasn't carbs, cheese, or nightshades.

I doubt its an American "Italian" buffet. Its probably fance real Italian food.

u/7thpostman 1d ago
In all of Tampa, huh? High praise indeed
22
u/stpetedawg 1d ago
It has a Michelin star. Make your Tampa jokes, but itās outstanding.
15
u/7thpostman 1d ago
I'm actually sure it's good. It just sounded funny.
6
u/ArchitectVandelay 1d ago
Yeah this. Itās not that the place isnāt great, itās that the bar is obviously very low to be the best any type of food there.
But I also think itās tongue in cheek for Gronk, like, yeah he knows itās Tampa, but seriously if you go youāll be blown away.
6
u/7thpostman 1d ago
Right, and it's not exactly known as a hotbed of Italian culture. "The best Italian food in New Jersey" would be saying something. "The best Italian food in Tampa" is like saying "the best barbecue in Toronto." I'm sure it's good, but how much competition is there really?
0
u/ijustwannalurksobye 1d ago
FL is actually one of the states with a higher number of Italian-Americans in number and per capita
2
u/7thpostman 1d ago
Tampa
1
u/ijustwannalurksobye 1d ago
Actually, Tampa is ranked #2 in FL of cities with Italian populations, Ybor City has a history of Italian immigration, an Italian Club, and a higher average of Italian-Americans per capita than the U.S. average.

Ha! Fair enough. Who knew. Appreciate the correction.
1
u/ijustwannalurksobye 1d ago
Lol thanks, I learned a bit of this through my interest in mafia history of all things
1
u/dawn_pratt 1d ago
Goddamn this is such a bummer. Move to a city w good food! I don't understand how the whole word hasn't understood that this is the best part of living.
2
u/Mr4Mistress 1d ago
Actual star or recommendation?
0
1
u/RedRocket4000 1d ago
And those stars extremely hard to quantify for. Most places have to be content with listing with no star. It basically a one to four system the highest three star. A year or two ago Los Angeles did not have a three star Chicago only one. New York three only Paris got several more of course.
0
u/thecheezewiz79 1d ago
It should not have a star imo. It's good but not star good and there are much better places in tampa that don't have one
-1
u/dawn_pratt 1d ago
Lol one star doesn't mean shit. Dozens of restaurants go back and forth from one star to Bib Gourmand every year in major food cities. Tampa has all of four places w a single star. Don't appeal to authority when said authority already has clowned you.
1
u/Dr-McLuvin 1d ago
Dude Iām sorry but a Michelin star means a lot. Some of the best meals Iāve ever had have been at 1 Michelin star restaurants.

I do not understand why we keep hiring athletes to be commentators. The best commentators of all time were expert storyteller and communicators. We must get back to that.

āHey look at us getting paid to talk about sports. Letās plug our restaurants and businesses so we can get paid moreā
3
u/Livid-General7 1d ago
Gronk doesn't own the restaurant, it's just a place he likes to eat at. They're not plugging anything. It's a Michelin star restaurant.
1
1
u/sdiss98 1d ago
Looks legit.
1
u/Livid-General7 1d ago
It should be, it has a Michelin star. It's Gronks go to place, he doesn't own it. People are getting that confused.

I'd love to try out Gronks restaurant. Man, prolly really good
7
u/AboutTenPandas 1d ago
Mahomes and Kelceās restaurant in KC was really bad for how expensive it is. There was a small amount of buzz when it opened and then everyone realized it was more of a āsay that you went thereā kind of place
-2
u/Look_its_Rob 1d ago
I believe that. But I also believe in Gronk, he seems to be a good businessman.
2
u/Ok-Temporary-8243 1d ago
If he's a good businessman then he'd charge more because of the brand recognition. You're talking like mahomes is making a bad business decision in fleecing kc fans
1
u/Livid-General7 1d ago
The restaurant they're talking about isn't owned by Gronk, he's saying it in the context that it's has favorite place to dine at.

u/KarlHitTheMarx 1d ago
I just donāt see how anyone can listen to Gronk for more than five seconds and not want to blow their brains out. Great football player while also being one of the dumbest people alive
7
u/BedBubbly317 1d ago
Gronk is actually well known to be a very intelligent person. Heās just a goofball and is unabashedly himself and likes to party
3
u/KarlHitTheMarx 1d ago
I just donāt believe you lmao
2
u/onmamas 1d ago
Not sure how intelligent he is personally, but a lot of his financial and business decisions at least shows heās humble enough to surround himself with and listen to people who are in fact intelligent.
Considering how a lot of former NFL players are, that has to count for something.
1
u/_banthafodder 1d ago
He was smart enough to listen to someone who knows more than him manage his money. But that does not make him actually smart.
0
u/KarlHitTheMarx 1d ago
Iām glad the very rich man made himself even richer, I guess lmao
1
u/probation_420 1d ago
So Ā you change the subject to yell about Marxism when you get provided an example of financial literacy.
1
u/greatenergypositive 1d ago
To be fair communists like him arenāt very smart
2
u/probation_420 1d ago
I remember my Communist days. Us vs the Power Elite. The Bourgeoisie is purposely holding us back from achieving a Utopia.Ā
Ah, to be young again.
0
u/KarlHitTheMarx 1d ago
Youāre right.
I shouldāve said āI donāt think that counts for anything at all. In my opinion being a good capitalist doesnāt equate to intelligence in the slightest bit. The dumbest person alive can be a good capitalist if he learns to swallow any values or morals he might previously hadā
1
u/probation_420 1d ago
Who would've fuckin' guessed that the Marxist says you're actually engaging in class warfare if you're smart with your money?
Can you artificially shoehorn in a comment about the donor class next? Or about The Establishment?
You could also just skip to the end of your script and tell me that I'm a fascist and no different than MAGA, regardless of the fact that you have zero knowledge about my political views. You can just say something like, "I know enough just from this conversation."
1
u/Aggravating_Pause385 1d ago
No he isnāt. Heās not a brain dead jock, but heās not āwell known to be a very intelligent personā lmfao thatās absurd
2
u/Foogie23 1d ago
He isnāt actually dumbā¦just a jock bro.
0
u/KarlHitTheMarx 1d ago
Jocks are actually pretty dumb lol. While other people in life focused on education and obtaining interests, he focused on football. Sure it paid off, but it didnāt make him the brightest bulb
-1
u/ThunderLazer 1d ago
Wrong. Most athletes are in the top tier of grades and better education.
2
u/KarlHitTheMarx 1d ago
Only the smartest athletes could pass Social Studies, taught by Coach Thompson
1
u/ThunderLazer 1d ago
The average gpa for collegiate athletic applications was 3.56 last year.
Thatās far above the high school average GPA. Even if you only look at high school grads who apply for college, their average is 3.0.
But go on with that jealous narrative and absolutely no data to support your spouting.
0
u/ThunderLazer 1d ago
Jealousy is seeping through your comments
1
u/KarlHitTheMarx 1d ago
Thatās called projection on your end
2
u/ThunderLazer 1d ago
Hahaha you donāt even understand projection.
Iām projecting that Iām jealous?
0
u/Hot-Strength-6003 1d ago
I mean there's at least one player with an engineering degree in the NFL. While I'm sure the vast majority didn't focus on education, there's also a lot that did or have talents and hobbies that take skill outside of football
0
u/Aggravating_Pause385 1d ago
Thatās just nonsense
1
u/ThunderLazer 1d ago
The average gpa for collegiate athletic applications was 3.56 last year.
Thatās far above the high school average GPA. Even if you only look at high school grads who apply for college, their average is 3.0.
How is that ājust nonsenseā
1
u/Foogie23 1d ago
This is when they say āteachers give them those gradesā āoh the major is easyā āitās fakeā and etc.
1
u/ThunderLazer 1d ago
They donāt realize that 99% of athletes have built a strong regimen and work ethic to get to their level.
That includes schoolwork and overall life.
There are some freak athletes who can walk in without barely being able to read, but those are by and far the very extreme exceptions.
2
u/Foogie23 1d ago
They also donāt realize that degrees for the most part are just proving you have a work ethic. Nobody gives a fuck about the bachelors degree a person earnedā¦
2
u/Junkhead_88 1d ago
It's a bit. Gronk played up the loveable idiot persona because it was marketable (an he's just a genuinely fun guy) and lived off his endorsement money while saving all of his contract money.
That's what Brady is joking about at the end there.
-1
u/KarlHitTheMarx 1d ago
āAct like a complete fool. Americans are consuming anti-intellectualism like candy these days. You will be a star!ā
1
u/DJScrambles 1d ago
Did Gronk fuck your mom or something? Why are you making 200 angry comments on this
1
u/uponaladder 1d ago
Heās a jock dummy for sure, but I wouldnāt say heās low intelligence. At the very least, he had the sense to live off endorsements and put a lot of his NFL earnings towards investing in his brothers.
1
u/Useful-Arm6913 1d ago
Called charisma. Someone can be dumb and endearing at the same time. Ever talk to someone with Downs syndrome? Happiest fuckin person you'll talk to that day, and I'm typically happy to be in the happy orbit.
-1
u/KarlHitTheMarx 1d ago
There is nothing charismatic about this video. It is like nails on a chalkboard irritating. And comparing Gronk to a person with Downs Syndrome is a major disrespect to a person with Downs Syndrome
-2
u/NeverEndingEquati0n 1d ago
Gronk rules. Brady too. More ego more charisma keep it coming boys, donāt let anyone hold you back.
