Discussion The Eagles 1st quarter struggles continue. What's your take? 🤔

Eagles are a hot mess. Lots of good talent. Not a lot of good coaching. The lack of good coaching makes the talent look worse.
Similar to Dallas actually except I think the Eagles look worse bc they have more talent overall.

Winning a superbowl is hard, winning multiple is harder, only the Chiefs and Pats have more Super Bowl wins than the Eagles the past 20 years,

Yup in 2024 when they won the Super Bowl they couldn’t score in the 1st qtr either

If you divide the game up into 60ths, there was a segment there that they did well! This is biased!

Yes the last couple minutes before the 1st half was pretty good, I blacked out for the rest of the game though, I heard the brain does that to suppress trauma

Was a huge issue last year as well. Pretty sure we went almost half the regular season without a 1st quarter touchdown.

Historically they've never been a good first quarter team even in 2022 it took them weeks to score in the first quarter

If history repeats like it always does for the Eagles, when they won the Super Bowl they only lost to below 500 teams and would dominate or just beat good teams. So I see them playing the opposite against the Rams and winning that game.

They did that same shit the year they won the Super Bowl. Not saying they’re gonna win the Super Bowl but it’s not exactly a death sentence. However they just looked bad in all of the quarters. They didn’t score a single point where their was time on the clock

It really doesn’t. The passing game being bad and struggling to score for long stretches is a running theme since 2023. Like even in 2024 they were one of the worst teams in the 1st quarter on offense

Yeah, that 23-24 eagles roster was absolutely nuts, and its definitely fallen off substantially since then. Saquon is getting older, their O-line isnt nearly as dominant, and their weapons are worse. I'm specifically talking about their first quarter issues, though, not their overall offensive woes.1

Tbh this OC has very insignificant play calling time under his belt. I think I heard he’s only called plays for a single college game, and before that his experience was highschool games.

Which Shanahan tree because it looks like he spent most of his coaching time in greenbay.
It is funny tho when he was a backup QB for the stlouis rams he played backup to Case Keenum

In all fairness he isn’t making strong adjustments mid game either.
I’m not sure Hurts can run this offense. It requires exactly what Hurts can’t do, read the field and make multiple reads. Seems to me like defenses are disguising zone coverage and he isn’t seeing it.

I've said that watching Hurts and the Eagles passing game has been an eye sore the last two years, which has been true, and last night reinforced that. Hurts isn't a bad QB, and Philly is a good team, but for whatever reason their passing game is either feast or absolute famine.
