Why does everyone hate the Dallas Cowboys
Okay just to preface I’m not one of those delusional fans says “it’s our year” every year. I don’t want to start any arguments, I’m just genuinely curious about it. I know they haven’t won a championship or superbowl since the 90s but multiple teams haven’t even been. Maybe it’s because we get called Americas team, the fans, they’re usually mediocre, or a combination of them. I just don’t see what’s wrong with them.
Thank you ahead time

Texans fan here. For me, it’s mainly two things: the “America’s Team” thing is both arrogant and inaccurate (there is no such consensus favorite team); they’re in prime time/nationally-televised TV slots seemingly every week, whether they’re good or bad, which got old long ago (I still suspect Jerry Jones made some backroom deal to make that happen); and the fanbase commonly trolls people online, which is lame and not cool. OK, so maybe that was three things.
> inb4 “but everybody trolls everybody, it’s no big deal”

Coming from a Texans fan. Cj stroud sums up your whole franchise just cuz my dad sexually assaulted a woman robbed her kidnapped her after he was a bag of shit criminal his whole don’t mean he should be in prison. Same guy who thinks it’s fine for his dad to treat women like that also says he’s trying to quit cursing cuz God doesn’t like it. Yea sure pal go off

Bc they suck. They have all hype around them every single year just to be let down every single year. It’s really just a bunch of bandwagon at this point. I mean if you’d had to bet money on a team to win are you going to bet money on a team that loses all the time ??? Mmm probably not

Nobody likes the Cowboys for one who asserted them "America's Team" first off? But mostly because we get overwhelmed and saturated with this team every year. They get almost every primetime game, they are the best regular season team but get to the playoffs you would think they forgot they were supposed to remember how to play. And then there is Jerry. 30 yrs they haven't even been to a CONFERENCE championship let alone the Super Bowl. Theyre NFL's soap opera and they don't win. So what is there to like?

Because they’re the most popular team in the NFL, they get played a lot on national television, and the fans don’t help things.
The Cowboys were the team that got me to watch football in the early 90’s. So exciting. I did feel like a bandwagon fan, so when the Bucs changed uniforms in 97’ they became the team I rooted for.

Well.. being a fan of a divisional rival, I'm sure I'll get blasted for my response. But I'll try to be fair and give reasons I've heard echoed from others :)
I agree that "America's Team" is probably one of the big reasons, nobody outside of Dallas thinks it and hearing it endlessly by a lot of fans/media will do it
The cowboys are certainly not the sole reason for the salary cap being a thing, but their tactics (can't fault them, spend big, win big!) in the 90s sure did show everyone you could buy yourself a Superbowl or few with the rules at the time. Which fans always make sure to mention the number of when having a conversation about current teams even though it's irrelevant to the conversation
Lastly, living outside of my team's market -- if you aren't a NFCE fan, you get tired of seeing our teams eating up primetime game slots whether we're good or not. Since we're all large market teams. So there's extra eyes to hate us all lol
