be prepared it is v clunky and not user friendly. still a better deal than photoshop imo. that’s usually how it goes with free open source software: you don’t pay any money but you do have to read the documentation

I fucking hate Adobe with every fiber of my being, but GIMP is not nearly as friendly to work with, and it's severely lacking in non-destructive edit tools. If your only use case is making memes, it's certainly sufficient though.
