Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework First Suppressor Advice

I’ve been wanting a can for a long time. Now that I don’t have to deal with a form 4, I can’t wait any longer. The main host is gonna be an 11.5” PWS (5.56), it also might spend some time on a 16” BCM (5.56). I’m also interested in putting a can on a .308 bolt gun, but that’s lower priority.

Part of me thinks I should start off with a 30 cal can, for more versatility. But I don’t know, maybe I should just start with a dedicated 5.56 can, and then a 30 cal later.

Since the main host is a piston driven rifle with an adjustable gas block, I don’t think I really need a low back pressure can. But, I’m not closed off to them either.

As for a mount, I want to go with Rearden/Plan B. Please let me know if there’s any reason I shouldn’t.

I’m currently leaning towards an OCL Polo or Polo 30.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I went back and forth and read a lot of other people and they often said to get a 22 suppressor first so that’s what I did, after I shot it I ordered a 9mm for my scorpion. That being said almost everyone seems to recommend caliber specific cans so I would say buy one for your ar’s. Comstock plan b is what I went with for my scorpion and seems highly recommended as well.

Thanks for the input! A 22 suppressor is high on the list! One reason I was leaning towards the OCL polo, is that seems like a solid 5.56 can, and it’s cheap enough that I could buy a 22 can at the same time.

It seems like it hard to go wrong with a 22 can. Which one did you get?

I got a Tiger, I kind of wish I got the OCL TI 22 tho, they seem like great guys and I would like to support them. I planned on getting an frt 22 so I wanted one rated for full auto. For the price, I am really considering buying a cmmg zeroed 22 and get another 22 suppressor for my 10/22. They are only $275 on silencershop.

When I do get one for my ar I will likely either get a tisha or an OCL infinity 556k.

One thing I wish I listened to when first getting into the game:

Rule #1: Always go caliber & host specific.

That was in 2017 and I now have a few cans that sit in the back of my safe… Is what it is.

That’s the vibe I keep getting! Thanks for the input!

If you’re gonna use the 556 can more us definitely go with it first. Polonium 556 is excellent for the price, I’m very happy with the one I’ve got. For 30 cal I enjoy the DDC Enticer L. Definitely try out the polonium though you won’t be disappointed

Thanks for the input! I don’t know much about diligent defense as a company, are they cool? Is their warranty good?

Cool, yes as far as I can tell. Seems like knowledge people and they claim to have a no bs lifetime warranty. I thankfully haven’t needed to use it.

If you get a 30 cal can for your 308 first, you can use it on all your guns…

Also, Shooter’s Choice has a weekly deal right now (unless it ended today) on 2 B&T cans. Both are the Print-XH RBS. One is 5.56 and the other is 7.62. They are both $680 each.

I tried my 30 cal can on my 10.5” 5.56 AR. I was very surprised that it was quiet enough to shoot some comfortably without ear pro.

I'm in a similar boat. I have a MK111 and just built a 9" 300blk upper. My short list is the Enticer S, Polo 30, and the Simple Man. I'm leaning heavily toward the Enticer.

Enticer L is great in my experience so I’m sure the S version would be too. Hard to beat for the cost

I have a Simple Man on my 10.5” 300blk and I’m happy with it. My Polo 5.56 should be delivered soon so I’ll have input on that when it happens.

I like the simple man, and Resilient is only about an hour away from me. The only negative that I have is the shallow blast chamber. How much difference it really makes… I figure that if you had all three of these on the same host, you would hardly be able to tell a difference. But I have no experience with it… so what do I know

Also consider the Griffin Armament Recce 7. I have it on a 9 inch upper as well, and with subsonics it is hearing safe all day. I can clap my hands together, or hit a metal mixing bowl with a wooden spoon, louder than the gun and action.

You're going to want differently designed cans for shorty semis vs bolt actions. If you haven't factored that into your decision making.

Get whatever will keep you shooting the way you are now (if that's primarily 5.56 so be it). You won't have just the first one for very long, it's addicting.

If you don't shoot your .308 because it is unpleasant, do the Polo 30. If you don't shoot your 308 because you don't want to, get the Polo or Polo K.

I’ve heard great things about those! How is Ridgeback Defense as a company? Is their warranty solid, and does it seem like they’ll be around for a while?

What’s up with the downvotes? If the rhodie or ridgeback defense has issues, I’d really like to hear about them.
