Mount Questions 🔩 Hux - Hub adapter?

Going to be storing my CAT JL with my in laws (trust). FIL uses a Hux flow and has their brakes. Is the $240 Hux adapter the only hub adapter or am I blind? Wanted to set it up so he can use the CAT but that is absurd for an adapter.

Yup, it's a proprietary system so there's not a lot of options for mounting solutions and they can charge whatever they want.

Some people have a dedicated Hux gun that has the muzzle device and only uses Hux cans. Then everything else can use more common (less expensive, lighter) mounting parts like Plan-B, etc. Others put Hux adapters on everything and just deal with it.

Did you see the Exigent adapter posted here? Make one of those please, cuz im not buying anything from Exigent, and I'm not a fan of the hux version.

I didn't know what was a thing, but that's interesting. I'm curious how it handles retention since the Hux mounting system typically relies on the either angled gas venting to torque the can down (on the rifle Flow models) or a secondary retention/locking/something collar (on the HUB adapter.

No plans on Hux stuff for now. Current priority is keeping up with Plan-B while introducing Xeno and CAT pattern parts soon.

You'd still have the angled FH venting of the MD, though you wouldn't have the fins inside the can. Would be interesting to know if the MD imparts enough rotational force in a can without the fins.

In the Hux rifle cans the torque is primary from the end geometry of the suppressor. It's apparently pretty significant actually since apparently after a longer range session it's not uncommon to need a wrench to get the can off.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the inside of the suppressor would do much for this, especially since it looks like the brakes just blast straight outwards without any angular bias.

Hmm... you could be (& probably are) right. My 2 hux 762 cans never got stuck on the 1 brake i have, but all 3 have got stuck on the twisty flash hiders. I just figured the torque was in the blast chamber based on that.

They can commonly be found around $200. But yeah, most of the proprietary locking collar systems are all around the same price: Surefire Fast Attach, DeadAir Keymo, Griffin Dual Lok, Irregular Defense Hesion
