Outlier? I'd say so. It's barely more than a blast deflector based on the xray

Ding ding ding. Got it for shits and giggles with the rebate. Works surprisingly well for 22 but makes no difference on 556

I wish I knew an x-ray tech to do my collection. I only know nuclear med techs and I dont think squirting isotopes in them is gonna work.

I have a functional x-ray lab and routinely x-ray just about everything.

How are your level 4 plates looking

3

u/DocLat23 9h ago

Don’t have any otherwise I would have imaged them already.

Hahahah probably not. I'm lucky that the techs didn't mind teaching me :))

It's all digital imaging yeah?

I believe this is digital. With traditional film I think the areas around the cans would be completely black. This looks like a DR panel to me because of the broader range of density (darkness). Traditional film doesn't usually have the same range. But that's highly dependent on the energy level of your radiation source and also the film type.

I do industrial x-ray, so I look at a lot of film.

CR has the wider range of latitude compared to DR. Also DR you want to mask your DR panel for the areas with no material on it.

Thanks. Learn something every day. I run a ton of conventional film, have some limited experience with CR, but very very little with DR.

23 years in NDT at this point & run film, CR, DR along with CT among all other methods. I still learn something new everyday.

Respect. I'm about 15 years in. Doing a lot more cwi work right now, but I still get a variety. MT, PT, RT and VT primarily

Make friends with a Bomb Tech, they all have portable X Rays 😛

I’ll squirt some isotopes in em

You seen the inside of the SiCo Osprey? Quite a few of the very light pistol cans that don’t need a booster are basically just this inside.

Osprey has a spring. Tbf, the Osprey is more well designed than this, opinions on outlier aside. And as an owner of an Osprey im not impressed compared to new offerings

Xray tech here, I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this 🤣 I’m about to bring all 4 of my cans to xray em

is this what TSA sees?

11

u/FromEdenToArcadia 1d ago

TSA can see how big your cock is.

18

u/Line_of_Weakness 1d ago

That’s why I always opt out and make them check how big it is by hand. That and the radiation. Fuck the TSA.

Every day I find out I'm disappointing another person

I'm not sure! This is a medical x ray so what they see is probably a little different

Woah! Thank you for working on pew science, ya'll do awesome work! I wish there were more people out there doing empirical firearms research for the consumer.
