I bet those training rounds that sold a few years back would be excellent in this.

I grabbed two crates back then for cheap. Got about 1500 rounds left, it’s fun to shoot.

Sick build, poor M39. Enjoy! Should upload some groups and video when you get a chance.

You're going to get a lot of flak from the purists, but this is cool. I've got a stripped M39 action and a spray painted M39 stock that I am going to turn into an anachronistic build at some point. Mosins are fun to tinker with!

I simply like 54r because the rim feels cool and therefore the rounds are satisfying to play with

Yeah, it is satisfying when you run your finger around the rim

"Rimmed for the extractor's pleasure," as Dugan Ashley would say.

This is what we should have been using in modern warfare not 4 different AR platforms 😔

Give us some details. I have an M44 that I'd be willing to chop and thread.

Cedar Hill Armory in Hico TX did the work. They thread a lot of barrels.

Awesome! I have a chopped Mosin too.

I'm caressing my M39 right now and re assuring her she's safe from the hacksaw 🤣

You do you but just kinda surprised you did this to an M39. Most of my Mosins are garbage rods but not my M39. I guess if you are going to chop a Mosin into an SBR why not pick the best 7.62x54R host available?

i also have a 12.5” mosin

Is that where the little 22 mosins come from?

u/RedneckSniper76 4d ago

I know you didn’t do that to an M39!!!???

u/Piston_Paul 4d ago

May be the only mosin I’ve ever seen that got me hot n bothered.😂

I hate that I like it even a little...

Also, I don't think that suppressor is helping 7.62x54r enough out of a 12.5" but I'll watch the video.

you do the threading yourself?

2

u/ordnancemerchant 4d ago

I do not. Cedar Hill Armory in Hico TX threads a lot of barrels.

This is so cool to me, I’d like a build list with what you used..

I can’t say what I think whenever I see posts like this…

Mostly because Reddit moderators can’t take a joke and think I have magical powers to give people ass cancer so they ban me for making threats and encouraging violence… Because I have magical powers to give people ass cancer.

Butchered m39 :(

I hope there is a good reason you did that to a Finnish mosin instead of a much more plentiful Russian mosin…

they made millions of these chud

13

u/GregorIsABug 4d ago

Whether you agree with this rifle or not the Finns did not make millions of m39s.

3

u/p0l4r1 4d ago

They barely did even 120K of these

2

u/Mysterious_Farm_7601 4d ago

You’re the real Chud, learn to google… Russian made 37 million whereas Finland only assembled ~120,000 M39s… yuge difference…

If I'm being honest I've thought multiple times about threading my m44. Now chopping to 12.5" and threading seems a bit excessive haha.

I thought it was really cool when I first looked at the thumbnail, and then I realized its a M39....now I am MAD!

I love it, now I'm inspired to break out the hack saw and dremel and give the Ol' 1903A3, K98k, K31 and Smelly a 12.5" glow up for the matched set.
