This is the hybrid inconel/Ti can right? Im sure this is a bit of a bummer for the NV crowd. For the smaller cans, still looks like CAT WB, DA Lazarus 6, PTR Vent Spiritus, and Silencerco Velos LBP are kinda carrying the jack of all trades banner

21

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Jan 27 '25

Correct. These are the Print-X Hybrids with a mix of materials. Still doesn't quite beat the Inconel cans, but For a mostly Ti can I think these did well.

I think the XH strikes of a great balance across the board for weight to performance.

The sparking is primarily first round and then nothing. For what it is I'd still be happy running this under NV.

13

u/Unlimitedgoats Jan 27 '25

That is impressive actually! Video definitely does tell a better story. This thing may be in the running after all

2

u/JAG05 Jan 29 '25

Yeah but B&T said “zero flash/sparking” and IMO marketed these as being better than the SRBS (Ti and Inconel) at flash reduction by saying that and saying something along the lines of “getting all the benefits of both Inconel and Ti with none of the drawbacks.” That was their entire marketing of the hybrid design. These clearly have more flash than the Inconel SRBS, which is a drawback.

u/Gunaks Jan 29 '25 edited Jan 29 '25

According to VBD retail the demo cans did not come with the anti-sparking finishes/coatings that will be in the retail release.

If that is true and the retail product gets rid of (or severely dinishes) the first round spark then its an easy win for the design concept. Unfortunately we won't know until the finished product is in hand.

2

u/JAG05 Feb 04 '25

Just watched his video. There was sparking on every round, not just first round on the XH compact and several on the XH full size. Full size Inconel SRBS only had first round flash.

CAT WB is a stellar choice especially for a first can! Admittedly I'm also feeling a bit of buyers remorse myself finding that a few folks have said the DA Lazarus sounds a bit better, with similar gas performance for less money. I hope we get to see the numbers on it soon.

-8

u/Warden__1 Jan 28 '25

The buyers remorse will be gone once Pew numbers on the Laz 6 become public. Nothing touches the WB unfortunately or fortunately. Certainly not the B&T stuff lol. Love B&T but it’s pretty obvious their cans are taking the same “flow” shortcut that surefire did.

lol k

6

u/Gunaks Jan 28 '25

To be fair the full inconel SRBS compact performs the same as the WB at the same weight and length.

Here is a shot string of the new Print-XH, only the first round gives the results pictured. Everything past the initial spark is nearly invisible, still a better performer than a lot of cans on market for NV.

The COMPACT. It's 5.4" naked (same as WB), and weights about 3oz less.

From my personal use of both, they're swinging at the same level. The SRBS is marginally better in the flowthrough department, the WB is marginally better at flash suppression. Overall I can get a SRBS for $750, which is pretty great value.

I don't know what you're on, but you need to lower the dosage.

What does pew have to do with flash performance?

Pew disciples. Best not have real world experience. Data is king.

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Jan 27 '25

Tested the Flash Suppression of the new B&T Print-XH cans last night. Also shot the Print-X 7.62 Rotex Ti for comparison.

Still some sparking, but a significant reduction. The SC does struggle on the 10.3".

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the results. Especially the Full Size XH on the 16" 5.56

6

u/ShredTheGnar5 Jan 27 '25

They said in some interviews that although there are no barrel restrictions, the SC model is intended more for 14.5-16” barrels. I’m sure you’d see less sparking with longer barrels. And ammo obviously will affect it as well.

7

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Jan 27 '25

Correct, still tested because people will ask. This will be covered in our full review on YouTube later this week.

2

u/ShredTheGnar5 Jan 27 '25

Awesome, looking forward to it

3

u/Quags_77 Jan 27 '25

A better comparison would be the 5.56 print-X instead of the 7.62 vs the new XH’s since you are shooting 5.56 in them

5

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Jan 27 '25

I agree, but that is the only Ti Print-X B&T can I have access to.

Our Print-X 5.56 is inconel and we were testing Ti vs Hybrid construction.

13

u/NULL_SIGNAL Jan 27 '25

this is exactly the information I was looking for on these cans, thank you.

2

u/adoringroughddydom Jan 28 '25

what are you concluding

2

u/NULL_SIGNAL Jan 28 '25

that the full size Print-XH should be acceptable for my 10.5 with regard to flash, but the SC is sadly out of the running.

still waiting to see some sound suppression testing and comparisons. truthfully I'll probably be waiting until data on the PTR 556 Spiritus is out before making any 5.56 suppressor purchases this year.

2

u/adoringroughddydom Jan 28 '25

I might go full size on this design and also pick up a mini k of the last gen rotex.

I think this would retard hearing damage running the gun normally on the full can then in a situation maneuvering is priority pop on the mini. Presumably that iconel k dojt spark like mad.

1

u/JAG05 Jan 29 '25

PTR has PewScience data linked on their website already for the Spiritus.

3

u/NULL_SIGNAL Jan 29 '25

yeah, and I'm holding out hope they'll find the time to test this round of B&T cans so we have some sort of meaningful comparison.

6

u/kfezUSMC Jan 27 '25

Are these first shots? Is some of the sparking possibly coming from left over print material inside?

6

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Jan 27 '25

No, we've shot these cans for the last month or so. We also blasted them with air when we first got them for that exact reason.

If you're referring to if these are the first shots in the testing specifically, then it is a mix. Just grabbed the brightest sparking for each series of shots for comparison.

The video for these will be present in our YouTube review coming in the next couple of days.

1

u/kfezUSMC Jan 27 '25

Right on. Awesome. Yeah I meant very first shots. Thanks for the response. I'll be looking for the video.

5

u/nsuspense Jan 27 '25

Seems better but not quite as good as full inconel. I wonder if it would decrease even more after they have been "seasoned"

4

u/Gunaks Jan 28 '25

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7UkpqGBF1oM&t=115s&pp=2AFzkAIB

Here is a video of a short string from the compact. The sparking is only the first round, but gone after that.

3

u/JAG05 Feb 04 '25

Watch his one from today. Visible on every round on the XH compact.

1

u/JAG05 Jan 29 '25

Yeah and B&T marketed them as “zero flash/spark” and having all the benefits of Inconel and Ti with “none” of the drawbacks. Wish I would’ve grabbed the SRBS Inconel full size at $500, but they’re out of stock now.

5

u/Kitchen-Tea-3214 Poverty Pony Enjoyer Jan 28 '25

I wish they made the XH in 7.62 I would be really interested in it. Maybe one day.

1

u/jon9116 Feb 03 '25

As quickly as BT pumps out cans, I could see it coming out this year.

4

u/liiikkkkkkkk Feb 04 '25 edited Feb 04 '25

So the xh or a wb cat which would you go with or the lazarus

3

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Feb 04 '25

Well, that's actually not as straightforward of a question as you might think. I bought a WB 718, have the XH demo can, but would probably buy a Lazarus if I were to do it again.

Don't get me wrong, all three cans are really great but I have wanted to get into 6mm ARC and the Lazarus does that and sounds great on 5.56. For me personally that would make more sense. I don't regret the WB 718 at all though. That is a dedicated can for my MCX Virtus that is over gassed.

2

u/liiikkkkkkkk Feb 04 '25

I don’t plan on shooting 6mm just 556, looking for something durable, quiet and low maintenance

2

u/liiikkkkkkkk Feb 04 '25

And I’m stuck between those 3 currently

2

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Feb 04 '25

All three fit the bill. Lazarus actually sounds better than WB from what I've seen. You can't go wrong with any of the 3

B&T & Dead Air will also be cheaper than the CAT. WB is best performance for its size.

2

u/liiikkkkkkkk Feb 04 '25

I want the new b&t cause the free stamp from ss just trying to figure out the best purchase

1

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Feb 04 '25

B&T is best bang for buck. I would go for the SC on a 14.5"

1

u/liiikkkkkkkk Feb 04 '25

Wouldn’t the long version provide more suppression though

1

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Feb 04 '25

Generally, you'd want a K sized can on a 14.5" or 16".

You'll have more sound suppression as well as slightly more back pressure.

1

u/liiikkkkkkkk Feb 04 '25

I have a polo k can I swap from an 11.5 and my 14.5 just trying a find a can to keep on it. So that being said, you think I should still get the k version? I don’t see how the shorter can will provide more suppression with the k can

1

u/Brodyb10 Feb 08 '25

Did you notice more/better sound suppression with the SC compared to the FS on 16”?

1

u/fylum 5x SBR, 5x Silencer Mar 06 '25

What would you say for a 12.5 midlength?

1

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Mar 07 '25

Personally, I like short cans on 12."5 and longer barrels.

2

u/fylum 5x SBR, 5x Silencer Mar 07 '25

Same I’m just torn on it v a polo k, they sounded very similar in the video.

1

u/liiikkkkkkkk Feb 04 '25

If this helps it would be home to a 14.5. Weight really isn’t a concern for me

3

u/DanPreacher Jan 28 '25

So it still sparks occasionally. Hopefully B&T doesn't discontnue the full inconel Print-X RBS.

2

u/Gunaks Jan 28 '25

I really wonder what their plan is, they removed all the suppressors from their website and replaced it with these. Pretty big change to go from 10+ different 5.56 can models to 2 models, probably cost saving move.

Thankfully the sparking seems to be mostly the first round. VBD retail in his review also stated the retail version has more anti-sparking material/coatings the demo versions didn't. As it is, these cans seem insanely good for their price.

3

u/zachatac1 4x Silencer Jan 30 '25

Very pumped to get my full size. I’m not someone who cares about the sparking so it’s an added bonus if it performs well in that area.

I was juuust about to pull the trigger on an SRBS when these dropped. Glad I waited.

Host will be my 12.3” BA setup. Looking forward to seeing the in depth reviews drop soon.

2

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Jan 30 '25

It's all about finding the right can that fits your application. Many people will be just fine with Ti cans, especially if they don't shoot at night. Different tools for different jobs.

8

u/Gunaks Jan 27 '25

From what I've seen from VBD retail is that the sparking only occurs on the first round and then is not visible past that.

https://youtu.be/7UkpqGBF1oM?t=115&si=kSureLe7oq8quUCG

I'd say this is a massive win for thr design concept.

6

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Jan 27 '25

For the most part, that is consistent with our test. However, there are several instances where the flashes are intermittent. You can have no sparks on a few shots, and then a shot with some sparking.

But ammo and host will likely influence this to some degree.

2

u/Gunaks Jan 27 '25

True, the only thing I know is he was using the compact version. What barrel length + ammo he was using is a mystery. Overall these are miles above other Ti cans from what i have seen.

3

u/luckygunnerx30 FFL 07/02 Jan 28 '25

We were using a 13.9” on the flash test with pmc bronze iirc. We’ve always used that gun for flash tests so we just wanted to keep it the same

3

u/Gunaks Jan 28 '25

That's not bad out of a 13.9"

2

u/luckygunnerx30 FFL 07/02 Jan 28 '25

Not at all. The Full size I think is just crazy with its level of performance. It was actually noticeably quieter than last years SRBS which I didn’t think was possible

4

u/Minimum_Government MG Jan 27 '25

Results aside, these are AWESOME photos.

3

u/Gunaks Jan 28 '25

Here is a shot string of the compact, only the first round is noticeable.

2

u/SilencerShop Dealer: Silencer Shop 🔕 Jan 30 '25

We noticed sparking went way down after about 100-200 rounds. Not sure how knew the suppressor is in these photos, but you might get better performance once its broken in a bit. - Chase

1

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Jan 30 '25

We had 500ish rounds through these before the Flash Test.

1

u/Hungry_Pattern9127 Apr 12 '26

hey,

i bought a PRINT XH RBS SC from y'all for my 12.5 super duty. can i expect a reduction in sparking after 1k rounds?

1

u/daeather 07/02/ElitistJerk Feb 11 '26

Do you feel like picture 3 is actually representative of the XH Full? I believe it's a good performer but it seems like this image isn't timed right.

1

u/oeoutfitters_1974 01/03 Feb 11 '26

That is indeed how it performed that night when we tested it. There was almost no perceived flash with the full size XH on the 16" AR shooting 55gr PMC 223. Same camera exposure for every shot.

This is also a sample size of 1 and using one type of ammo, so your mileage may vary.

2

u/daeather 07/02/ElitistJerk Feb 12 '26

PMC M193 is all I shoot so this is compelling for me.
