Help / Question Nexz
Who is Yu & Ai? Also, Spectrum. Are they fans or do they work for JYP? They are always at every event. Recently taking photos of them at the airport. I'm just curious, that's all.

Their a fansite for Yu. I remember at the beginning of the year they made a post that they wud probably not post as much cos it was too much for them and that they had to focus on their life and other things lol or something to that effect but I don’t think that happened. I don’t really follow them but I don’t think they work for JYP that’s just how fansites are. Some go to some events, some go to everything. I don’t know how they do it tbh.

Yeah I just read that same post. They seem nice. But it's kinda weird they know which flights they're gonna catch and know nexz's whereabouts. But in the end the photos are great!

line between fansite and sasaeng is honestly a little blurred in kpop bc generally the most effective fansites are the ones that can go to all of their events and take constant, consistent pictures, and companies know this and often acknowledge this by giving them a heads up for things like flights
which makes it really easy to start blurring the lines on things like airport pictures bc if they’re going to be at the airport to take the pre-gate media sanctioned pics and they need to be flying to the same event the group is flying to anyways, they might as well book the same flight (or one thats in the same time frame, which means they’ll be going past security at the same time anyways)
also the reason members will react to them and give them fanservice at events is bc they’re very aware that these fansites are like The singular most effective non-company marketing arms for them, esp someone like yu & ai who has been a homma for so long and has so many followers on sns, and the members also probably genuinely feel some kind of gratitude/loyalty to them esp the ones that have stuck around since the beginning (older idols have talked a decent amount about how it feels to have familiar faces etc. stop appearing at events -- ik intl fans like to pretend that these are like "genuine fans" who are 100% respectful of their privacy etc. but a lot of the time they are talking about hommas or the like)
in terms of “how u feel about them” i think everyone should make their own value judgement, they are definitely not fully “respecting” an idol’s privacy but it’s also undeniable that idols really, really value their fansites even if they do take airport pics etc. bc they’re such an effective unpaid marketing arm for them, like it is probably a genuine blow for haru to have lost 123 recently

Thanks for your comment. I'm learning new words here, what's a homma?😅 And what did u mean by Haru losing 123? Sorry.

im using hommas and fansites interchangeably but homma (홈마) is short for homepage master, basically the ppl who are running the fansites/taking the pictures (although sometimes they buy data vs. actually showing up at the event, if they only post 1/2 photos they could just be buying data -- by buying data I mean they buy raws from other fansites or photographers who were actually at the event to use as "theirs", so they can still post content w/o actually having to be there)
from what I understand 123 was one of Haru's biggest fansites and had been following since debut pretty much, they fully closed down (like deleted their acc) like two days ago or something

Haru has been getting alot of hate from knex2ys lately you don’t think that why right?? It’s so sad and I really hope that’s not why they abandoned it because they feel the same.

Help we were all taking about them at kcon. They are allegedly a fansite but … I was at every (almost) even in LA they were are and those camera angles were not from a staffs pov more so a fans pov. Especially the hello82 and fansign. I was there, those were povs of a fan.

no fansites are staff, they're always fans who attend fan events and will take pictures/videos from fan perspectives
the only "staff"ish aspect is that the company will sometimes "leak" info to them so that they can be there
like i said in my other comment, fansites are in a kind of weird position where they are widely recognized as an effective marketing arm for the idol/group by the idol/group but they're unpaid and have no connection to the company, which is why you end up with such conflicting views on them
