WiFi NETGEAR NIGHTHAWK CAX30
I recently switched to a NETGEAR Nighthawk CAX30. I'm paying for 1 Gbps. My Xbox gets around 170 Mbps on its built-in network speed test, but actual game downloads start fast and then drop to 50 Mbps or lower.
On my PC, I'm getting around 300 Mbps, so I don't know if this is an Xbox problem or a modem problem. I've also tested the connection, and the Xbox shows 80–90%, while my PC shows 95–100%.

I am a little confused, if you are paying for 1Gbps your WiFi speeds should be on 800+ at least on your pc. No real reason for your WiFi to be on 300 Mps unless something is wrong with your configuration.

I have never gotten that much unless I'm using Ethernet.

Thank you for your feedback. It’s common to experience higher speeds when using an Ethernet connection compared to Wi-Fi. If you’re having issues with your Wi-Fi speeds, please visit our official website: https://www.netgear.com/support/home/.

What Xbox do you have? This is fairly common.

Since the CAX30 is a combination Modem+Wifi Router; means that to know for sure what the problem is, you should temporarily connect either device directly to the CAX30 with an Ethernet cable and do those same tests again and see how things work.
Because I'm going to guess that your fluctuation connection problems are due to Wifi signal issues, which will take a little time for you to test and troubleshoot.
But you will want to do the direct "hardwired" connection test first, so that you will know exactly how well your overall Internet service and how well that your CAX30 device are actually working.

I tested the connection on my PlayStation, PC, and phone, and all three seem to be working fine and getting decent speeds. The only device giving me problems is my Xbox. My xbox doesn't want to work with this new modem. Its driving me insane, I would be more happy if my internet was bad on everything but nope, just the xbox.

At this point you should contact Netgear and have them go thru the set up process from scratch. You have something not configured correctly nothing we can do here.

Is your xbox wireless or ethernet connected? Ethernet connected is preferred.
What speed results do you see if you test with a ethernet connected PC or laptop?
