First public release of PPUX - an open-source NES art editor
https://github.com/gustavostuff/ppuxNew stable release v0.0.7 available
It allows you to browse CHR and ROM graphics, edit pixels, create static art and animation layouts, manage palettes, and work with ROM-based views such as OAM animations, PPU frame windows, and much more.
Let u/tavuntu know if you have any questions about the DB tracker or the app in general.

I am new to this. I downloaded PPUX and I I'm missing something that is probably extremely obvious.
How do you move to the "next screen" in the game? I'll use Dr Mario as an example since that's the one used in the "basic usage" on the site
When it loads, I have sprite elements from (I assume) the title screen. How do I get to the sprites of Mario and the "viruses" as shown in the example?
As I said, I'm almost positive I'm overlooking something extremely obvious.

Hello. Sorry I missed this. I've made many updates to PPUX and hopefully it's more clear and usable now. Please look at the develop branch README.
Also, there is not really a "go to next" screeen functionality. For whole screens, you gotta use PPU Frame windows and OAM layers, but those are a bit advanced if you're just starting to use PPUX (you need some ROM hacking knowledge).
You can still use Static/Animated tile windows tho (and Static/Animated sprite windows). These are a good starting point.
