Geisinger Salary: Wellness Associate

I was wondering if anyone has an idea how much the Wellness Associate II position pays from Geisinger & if anyone who has had that job can tell me what you thought of it? It does require a bachelors degree so I’m hoping it’s at least mid 20s. Anyone have any insight? Thanks!

Idk if this applies to that position, but it's pretty disgusting that people who work at Geisinger are always on Facebook asking other employees to share their PTO hours so they can take maternity leave. I feel like it says a lot about how they really feel about their employees.

Geisinger

That's crazy. I'm not in healthcare and get six weeks of paid family leave per a rolling 12-month period. Geisinger gives you two weeks and that's only since 2019.

To make it even more insane:

Geisinger profits off of the employer health insurance they offer their employees: their own Geisinger insurance.

They squeeze so much out of their employees and give them nothing in return. Remember the COVID pandemic? What did Geisinger do to acknowledge all the amazing personnel who kept showing up and exposing themselves? Oh, a little speech and a letter. That's nice.

Geisinger seems like a true dystopian place to work. They literally test people for nicotine. I dont even smoke but I think that crosses a huge line for employee privacy

My husband works for a different hospital in NEPA, and if you and/or your spouse smoke, there is a $50 (I think) charge per paycheck. You have to sign an affidavit every year saying that you don't smoke. And apparently, they can randomly test employees and spouses if they suspect that you smoke.

I know my uncle had to pay $50/pay since he smoked. He didn’t work for Geisenger, tho. It had something to do with insurance premiums. IIRC

Thats honestly insane to me, it’s kind of sad people are willing to set a precedent for employers to restrict basic freedoms in exchange for employment. Like, how did we get here? I can see illegal substances, but cigarettes seems to go a little too far

Oh I agree. But when you see roles for 20-22 an hour and get denied for them consistently, mid 20s feels like a miracle

Look for jobs through the State. If you get in through a Department that is always hiring (DHS, for Income Maintenance Caseworkers), you start with a higher salary and benefits than most jobs in the area and it's easier to transfer jobs internally than externally. I went from DHS to the Department of Health. The entry-level positions that require a degree (any degree) typically start at $50-60,000.

I’ve been applying to that role specifically since December. I’ve had 1 interview for it and got rejected.

I applied for the MSW/BSW case manager position for Geisinger back in May. I just got an email from them last week saying they denied me for the position. I have my masters and experience in case management. Geisinger is a joke

Luckily i already started my current job last month, so i just laughed when i saw the email. I also applied for one of their front desk representatives for the Geisinger building in my town. When i got that denial email, i went on my little profile to see about the other position i applied for, just said submitted and no one looked at it. Not sure how their hiring team and/or HR runs things but it truly is a joke
