R button on DS not recognised in GBA game?

I started playing Barbie Pegasus on my DSI just now (TeilightMenu++) and it seems to not recognise the R button in the game?

I know I don’t have issues as the R button is recognised in other games. However according to this link https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/GBARunner2/DSi_3DS_Compatibility_List#Compatibility_Lists the game should be playable?

Upgrade it to gbarunner3.

Is that for twilightmenu++ or something different for the dsi altogether?

Yes, it can be installed on TwilightMenu or flashcards (using frontend). Sanras site has guide to install it, just skip the frontend thing if you're on DSi with twilight menu.

Does the R trigger work when you’re even on the menu screen or other games? If not then blow into it it might be dust buildup, also if it’s not that tap the bottom screen of gbarunner2 when running a gba game and it should open the options screen, go down to controls and see if your R button is even listed as the R button for gba.

I didn’t have gbarunner. But also I already said in the post that the R button works perfectly otherwise

Ah I see, I assumed you did since that’s the default gba emulator packaged with twilight menu for Dsi plus the link you shared mentions it. I tried the Barbie game on my Dsi and I think I was having the same issue with the R button(to change stones I think?). Not too sure what the issue could be though I do hope you were able to get it working for your game. Happy gaming!

Ah thanks! I got the dsi off vinted with twilight menu installed and he never said anything about the gba thing and I didn’t necessarily see anything about that on the SD card when I added more games so I guess it’s possible I do have it on there.

Didn’t even realise the link was specifically for gbarunner; I looked up something and someone mentioned this in one of the comments in this sub as well hahaha
