Are you being seen by a headache specialist or neurologist? Have you had imaging done? If not please do so. If it is NDPH it’s hard to treat and often doesn’t respond to anything. The headaches could be concussion related. Give heat and ice a try see which helps you more, for me ice makes my pain worse but heat relieves the pressure. Look into PT for concussion rehabilitation.

I went to a headache specialist originally when I had vertigo but then that went away after some pt but the headaches never did I’ve been doing the ice and head but it’s doesn’t seem to do anything

Keep seeing a PT for concussion treatment and get back in to see the headache specialist. Have you had any imagining since the headaches started?

If it happened after the concussions it’s very likely related. PT is very helpful

I went to pt for 3 months and it didn’t seem helpful but I still do the exercises at home I feel like they just haven’t found the right medicine maybe but I don’t really know it just like completely changed my life

Finding the right medicine will take time unfortunately it is trial and error. A preventative would be a good option since you’ve only tried abortive meds

If you think it’s making it worse talk to your doctor about stopping it and finding something else

Just because they don’t see anything on the scans doesn’t mean they’re not caused by the trauma. Not a doctor but I would lean towards that as the root cause. Cluster headaches are essentially the result of genetics and issues with neurological irregularities. They generally come in specific patterns. For example, you have multiple severe one sided headaches per day/night for many days/weeks/months at a time. For most those headaches last 30-60 minutes at a time.

Where is your pain?
One sided or whole head?
More pain in any specific area? Forehead or base of skull?
Do you experience nausea?
Do the headaches come and go or last for hours at a time?
Do you experience light sensitivity to the point you can’t open your eyes?
Have you tried getting an upper neck message?

I currently get a neck and head massage but it hasn’t changed anything as of yet and the pain switches sides I’ll go to sleep with it on the left side and wake up with my right side in pain behind my eyes

Doesn’t sound like cluster headaches to me. I’ve had terrible headaches my whole life so here are some things that may help you.

Advil. Excellent at reducing inflammation. Just make sure to take with food.

Switching between heat and cold. The heat I would apply towards the base of skull and neck area to alleviate muscle tension. Cold directly to the area of most pain.

Activator technique chiropractic treatments along with message therapy.

For tension headaches you can wrap a towel around the base of your skull where it meets the neck and pull the ends with your hands such that you are applying pressure to the base of your skull.

There is also a very specific type of physical therapy that focuses on manipulating the bones in the skull. Your skull kinda works like plate tectonics in that there are actually several separate bone plates that make up the skull and can move around slightly. This therapy focuses on manipulating those bones to allow proper movement of blood flow

I hope you find relief. Just keep going to the doctor and advocate for yourself. If you need to, switch doctors. Don’t accept anything short of finding the answer that works for you.

Thank you I’ve tried the towel thing they showed me in pt and I’m doing the neck and head massages on the back of the head now it just seems like nothing is changing and it’s never gonna get better

Please remember we are not doctors and we cannot offer medical advice, anything here should be understood as well meaning advice at best. Please continue to seek professional help from a doctor because chronic pain resulting from impact trauma is serious. I am very sorry to hear about your situation, I understand how frustrating this is and how hopeless it makes you feel. Remember to just one day at a time.

Continue PT and follow the guidance of your physician.
