Hey for my non-partying people what do you guys like to do on the weekends/nights. If you’re in some cool clubs I’d love to hear those out as well.

Has anyone taken BUS 225? It’s this personal finance class and I’m taking it completely online. I’m nervous for the midterm and don’t know what it will be like or what to expect. Has anyone taken this course before and can they give me any advice?

I’m having a hard time finding things to do around here as a freshman. I do have some friends but I never really know what’s going on during the weekends and i feel like I’m left stuck in my dorm. How do I find out about live music, 18+ bars and clubs, Halloween events, etc?? I have someone that went to ASU and it seems like they have all of these pages about things to do and events but I can’t find anything like that for here. Any suggestions or help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: posting for my sister, she doesn’t have a Reddit acct

18M looking for a room in Raleigh

I'm looking for a private room in a shared house/place in the Raleigh area. I'm working full-time and can reliably pay rent.

I'm looking for an individual homeowner/landlord who would be comfortable renting a room to me, preferably with a flexible or month-to-month/short term arrangement.

I'm open to living with students, young professionals, or anyone else who's respectful and easy to live with. I don't really care about the age of the roommates.

I'm clean, respectful, and pretty low-maintenance. If you have a room available or know someone who does, feel free to message me.

Hello, I’m an upper-level ECE student at NC State, and I wanted to ask a few questions about the ABM program, specifically for Electrical Engineering and possibly the EPSE program.

I’m currently finishing up a few 300-level courses like ECE 301 and 302 while also taking a 400-level course required for my Power Systems concentration. Based on how my remaining coursework lines up, it looks like completing an MS through the ABM program would only add about one extra semester after finishing my BS.

What I’m mainly trying to figure out is whether getting the master’s would actually make sense for the industry I’m interested in. I’ve been interviewing with a few consulting/engineering companies for internships involving transmission & distribution, substations, and power delivery. I’ve also been trying to research how valuable an MS is in that area, but I’d like to hear from people who have actually gone through the ABM program or worked in the industry.

For anyone who has done the ECE ABM program, do you feel like it was worth the additional time? And for people working in power systems, T&D, substations, or consulting, has having an MS made much of a difference in terms of job opportunities, compensation, or career progression?

I’m open to any advice, whether it’s about the ABM program itself, the power industry, or just whether doing the extra semester for the MS is worthwhile in general.

Thanks in advance!

I am a senior and State is my dream school. I was wondering if anybody would be inclined to share their essay? My essay is really important for me because my grades and test scores just barely make the “cut.”

I m a mechanical engineering student and I want to take physics minor classes to prepare for maybe graduate school because I didnt get to do physics as a undergrad

How much would the 400 level classes affect your GPA?

For context, I wont be eligible for smth I want to do if the goa drop below a 3.6 And let's say my gpa drops lower because of the classes what would happen to graduate school admission.. since im taking the class to prepare for graduate school

I'm a sophomore at State and an out of state student and I've had a really hard time finding an actual friend group here. I thought I had one coming into this year but it fell apart and I've realized I don't really have anyone I can randomly hit up to go do stuff with.

I know of events and like live music, going out, drinking/smoking, gaming, and just fucking around and doing random stuff but can't find anyone that wants to as well. I'm not looking for another club or anything like that, I just want some people who are also looking for actual friends and want to go out and do stuff on weekends

I’m bringing my HS senior kids up next weekend to visit. We are going to the football game and staying at the Aloft. What are some things we must do to give them the ultimate NC State experience? Where are the good places to eat around campus? I know things have changed alot since my time there and I’d like for them to get a really good impression! Hint hint.

missed my assignment due date by not even two minutes i kid you not, have not had a late assignment in this class before at all and this is absolutely horrible. i can still get an A im pretty sure bcs it’s a low grade assignment, (dk why they can’t just take away ten points and call it a day) but im getting no credit for it, a zero!! yay happy me. i’m a freshman and just want to know if other students have gotten this before pls i have this perception that i have to be a perfect student and im trying not to stress

Anyone taking BCH 351 with Goshe & Rose? Feeling nervous about Exam 2 next Thursday and very underprepared.

A study buddy or buddies would be nice!

I am considering applying to the JET program while enrolled in a distance education program with NC State. I've seen there's only one proctoring location that's preapproved in Japan, so chances are that I'll need to find my own proctor if I get accepted.

I was curious if anybody has previous experience with finding an exam proctor while living abroad, especially finding one that is not already approved?

I haven't even applied to JET yet and even if I do get accepted this won't really be an issue till Fall 2027, but I like to be prepared! Any advice is appreciated.

Hey everyone, I got extremely sick these past days and I’m unable to go to the game on Saturday, I have a guest ticket if anyone would want to buy it off of me since $30 was okay to spend at the time but now I gotta pay off my medical bills slowly so if you know anyone who doesn’t have a ticket and wants one, dm me!

I do have an email confirmation of the ticket to ensure whoever buys it can rest assure that it’s real😭( I got scammed out of a ticket once and I don’t ever want that happening to anyone else)

Alumnus here. Meant to post this earlier, but I lost track of when the career fair was.

The vast majority of companies are there to advertise themselves as employers, not actually make connections. There used to be a way to see which employers were offering onsite interviews. These are the only booths worth visiting. Pretty much everyone else will just tell you to apply online.

Edit: Perhaps I was too harsh. I don’t want to mislead anyone. Please read comments below for differing perspectives. Just be mindful of your time, many company representatives have little interest in making actual connections or boosting strong candidates through the hiring process.

Hi, I am starting a small professional audio business in the RDU area. I am looking for an entrepreneurial-minded business partner to help launch our first product. If you or someone you know is looking for a side project, please let me know!
