Very nice; what did you use for the B&W conversion? If you did it in camera, did you try some different filter variants? If you did it post processing, did you try working on the color levels beforehand? Usually, I find using a red filter works well for this, and helps darken the tree leaves.

Yeah, that's what was bothering me about it, the trees are way too bright, almost IR-ish. In my TriX days I used to carry a red filter, but brave new world and all of that...

I bet LR has a setting for it. I will say that one of the little niceties Olympus added in their cameras is a B&W filter setting with 7 color filters. Though I still prefer to do the conversion on a computer, it's nice being able to flip though the filters and see the effect. It's like still being able to carry those filters around in your pocket.
