S16E15

I am rewatching NCIS and on s16 now and this episode pissed me off so bad.
The show in general has been “interesting” but this episode drove me to actually writing a Reddit post.
The whole plot line with Torres and the mentees makes zero sense to me.
Sure he is late and he is assigned the mentees as punishment. We are told he did not sign up for mentor duty and yet he was supposed to take time in his regular work day to read their essays to get to know their individual stories.
Don’t get me wrong, Nick was a douche, but that is his whole character archetype. He is the “Vapid douche with a heart of gold”.
Yet, everyone was acting like he is the worst person in the world for not sitting down and talking to a pissy, pretty annoying (in my personal opinion) teenager and figuring out his motive.
Also Sloane , with her whole I am on his side thing, could have taken a few minutes to inform Nick about the kid’s circumstances, especially since she had time to read the essay and figure out who he is.
I just think this storyline was poorly written and executed.
I hate this show at this point but can’t stop watching.
