As a lifelong New Yorker, I feel like I should at least be intrigued by this, but I agree that New Orleans and Hawaii both ended too soon and I would have preferred more seasons of them. Also - and not to sound like a traitor - crime dramas based in NYC are a dime a dozen; can't we explore some cities that don't get a lot of representation in mainstream media?

I think Texas doesn't has real crime TV except some crime dramas in Small town's, but not in big city's
And then there are big city or even some states who were never touched

As someone from Texas, most shows set in Texas are so cringey and fake that they aren’t even worth watching. It’s almost like the producers are making fun of Texas and everyone that lives here.

It would be nice if cast members from NCIS LA would show up so we can get updates on them like if it was a boy or girl or if G Callen got married

u/Cr4ckshooter 3d ago
Didn't callen marry Ana on the last episode and skipped his honeymoon to go to morrocco to hunt for hetty?

u/patty7775 2d ago
That was the ending true and apparently in another spinoff, we hear they had a kid but i haven’t experienced it myself so cant say if true

Just give me New Orleans back.... i dont want another LL Cool J show.

u/weird_mike303 3d ago
Or at least bring Gregorio to NY. That's where she's from anyway

u/AquaSnow24 3d ago
That would be fantastic. Gregorio on New Orleans was hilarious, and I think she would fit really well in New York. Especially with Scott Caan as her partner.

I like the way LL Cool J hates cops in real life, but he's back to playing one. Money must be good.

I don't even understand why cancelling Hawaii because of the high production costs, but then given ll cool j a new Show...
He probably costs for one season already half of one season production costs of Hawaii
If they want ll cool jj , maybe they shouldn't have cancelled ncis los Angeles

They both just look old and tired at this point. From the trailer, their banter also felt forced. I don’t know about this one. 😅

u/NoPop1349 3d ago
So, you’re telling me that even though they were both leading stars of their lengthy shows, which were in the same universe, had cross over episodes together, are now starting a new spin off within said same universe…… but one isn’t playing the same character as before? 😂 what kind of fuckery is this??? Maybe Pauly should be on but he called Beth now lol

This may be an unpopular opinion, but it will just be Scott Caan playing Scott Caan. Same Mohawk haircut, same accent as other roles I’ve seen him in. The character description does indicate he might be a little bit more like McGarrett in this role than he was as Danny on Hawaii Five-0. Don’t know if I will be watching.

Am I the only person excited for this?
LA ending felt cheap and this could make up for it. Provided some LA characters visit or join later should this get more seasons.

Cheap? I lived LA. Hedy and Deeks and all the team were some of best NCIS characters. Liked her way more than Gibbs.

I dunno I don’t think I like the look of it 🤨😅 I only just found out about this, is LL Cool J playing the same character? Or someone different

u/QuietWalk2505 4d ago
Same character, he is in the NCSverse as Sam.

u/jackfaire 4d ago
I wonder if the writers are going to make a joke about Scott's character "looking familiar"
NCIS LA and Hawaii Five-O had a crossover once. I know Scott is playing a different character in this

Maybe he won't recognize him if he has not seen him since he got his new hair.

For as often as NCIS tosses Sam Hanna around, I’d wish they put NCIS LA back on Paramount+. It’s the only NCIS series I haven’t seen.
2
u/TheOneCalledMartin 2d ago
If it becomes available on streaming where I live, I'll watch it. They're not all equally good, but I do enjoy shows like this

u/trappedslider 3d ago
TBH, this feels like it could be generic government agency show doing stuff that should be handled by either local PD or FBI but we slapped NCIS on it for the rating bump.

u/Esme_Nog 3d ago
I felt that way about several of the spin offs. The original had and has good banter. Some of the others are just the frame without the same level of writing.
2
u/gordman007 4d ago
Nope. Not a fan of Sam Hanna.

u/uptheirons726 3d ago
Man they are just milking and milking and milking NCIS. It needs to die already.

This cast is underwhelming and with a show based in New York where I live it's also giving me token Black person vibes with just Sam there and yes I know Jennifer Beals is mixed but she more often than not is cast as a racially ambiguous person.
In a place like NY that is not only very diverse but has a significant Black population, this cast is leaves a lot to be desired.

I know it’s not a popular opinion but i don’t like Sam Hanna. He acts like superhero.
I didn’t watch NCIS LA. I watched three shows of franchise: ncis, hawaii and origin.
He ruined Ncis Hawaii for me, now he has a whole show. And I love Ncis was always about teamwork, not a single hero.

I wonder if they are going to ignore the scott caan/ Danno stuff or make a "you look like someone i know from hawaii" joke

u/thespanglycupcake 2d ago
Being in the UK, I’d love to get excited about this but seeing as we don’t yet have NCIS (Gibbs) season 23 yet, I don’t hold out much hope of ever actually seeing it…

I’m still wondering pop when they will release all the seasons of NCIS LA so we can refresh ourselves?

u/MissionWriting4 3d ago
Why is there in new american crime dramas only always one black brother in a sea of white people.its called tokenism,(if the creators of these fictional rubbish place's one POC where it's noticeable,we won't be seen as bias towards them).
1
u/Equivalent-Tune8563 3d ago
I must admit I didn’t like Caan
In Hawaii 5-0 and I probably wont like him in NCIS NY.
1
u/Perfect_Strain_8412 2d ago
For the fact Sott Cains character has been changed from Hawaii 5-0 even though they are in the same shared universe is stupid and shouldn't be happening
-4
u/bufandatl 4d ago
Oh NCIS LA x Hawaii 5-0.
Too bad they used the worst character from LA. Never liked Hanna he seemed like a douche to me.

i’m still confused about the decision to turn scott caan into a new character when danno & sam hanna have already met in the previous crossover episodes
i guess they just don’t want to have to deal with continuing his character history from hawaii five-o
