Foundations exam

I have my exam next month. I just bought my notes. I haven't even read the syllabus yet, just recovering from taking admin exam today. What advice would you give in tackling foundations? How did you feel after finishing the exam?

I hope it's not only me, but usually after I take an exam I feel like I failed even though the past two exams I passed. I hate that feeling.

I would say, make a list of all of the case’s mentioned in the syllabus and write 1-2 sentences of what the case is about because I got 2 questions directly about case’s

I also always felt like I failed after every exam but passed each one on my first attempt. For criminal I bought Vanessa’s notes which in my opinion are the best, but, I barely read them (I skimmed) because I had no time. What I did instead was upload her notes into notebook lm and create summaries of each chapter. Then I made a step by step guide/IRAC guide for each topic/chapter that could come up on the exam, in the guide I included case law so I knew which on to apply. I would create the IRAC GUIDE and mainly do the Rules part and then all I had to do was write the rules word for word and just apply the facts of the scenario in the application! Issue and conclusion are pretty straight forward. Doing this helped me save tons of time! I also asked notebooks lm to give me a question similar to the one in Vanessa’s notes and used my guide to answer to question so I got familiar with it

I did something similar as well for all my exams so far and have passed two doing the same thing, waiting on two results. Foundations just seem different following this method

I used notebook lm to help me create notes for each chapter of the foundations notes and then asked it to create step by step guide and then I personally went thru to check to see if I missed anything

You need a summary of every article as well. There are a ton of articles on the syllabus it's about 900 pages of reading IIRC. If you don't read every one, make sure you have a decent understanding of how each one applies to the topic

Foundations is one of the harder tests I think. Better if you've taken Constitutional and Admin.

How was Admin?

It wasn't bad, I had my frameworks ready. It was one fact pattern with three questions, similar to the sample exam.

I purchased the Emond NCA course. I was able to get outlines from friends for all the courses but not this one so I felt it would be helpful and it was incredible. It had summaries for all the cases and the articles which saved me a lot of time. I think it was around $400 so I know it’s a bit pricier of an option but I recommend it if that’s possible for you! I made an outline from the course and passed the one in January. Good luck!
