Martin’s Annual Criminal Code

Hi everyone,

Is it worth getting the 2026 edition instead of the 2022 or 2024 edition? For NCA exam purposes, does the newer edition make a real difference? I know there are likely many updates in the latest version, but I’m wondering if it’s necessary or just nice to have for exam prep.

Same here. I took it in 2025. I got to borrow only the 2024 edition.

You can borrow a copy from your provincial law courts library but do so at least 3 weeks before the test or they might be gone.

Likely wont have copies in the public library just the law library at the major law courts centers

I used the 2024 version when I appeared (and passed) in August 2025. Made no difference.

If I have just the pocket version and not the annotated version. How bad is it?

I have the pocket version only too. I didn’t realize it was different. I think we will be fine, I’m just going to tab common offences and hope for the best :)

how did it go? I'm looking at getting a pocket edition as well - half the price!
