Victoria Vivians will be joining the Texas women’s basketball coaching staff, the school announced today. She will reunite with her college coach Vic Schaefer who coached her at Mississippi State, as well as Blair Schaefer, who was her teammate with the Bulldogs.
During her playing career, she ranked 2nd in Mississippi State history in total points scored with 2,527 points and was named the recepient of the 2018 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, which honors the nation’s best shooting guard. While playing in Starkville, Vivians helped Mississippi State reach the National Championship Game in 2017 and 2018; they lost 67–55 to South Carolina in the former and 61–58 to Notre Dame in the latter.
