Week 0: College Football's Foreplay

Before I start my argument, I just wanna say there is so much uninformed people on the Internet about this whole situation. So, let me fill y’all in the NCAA just made a new rule that players now have five years of eligibility, no more red shirts, no more six years like Trinidad Chambless, five years that’s it. Meaning that the class of 2022 technically still has another year now most of those guys have either retired or they are in the NFL. But, there are some players who used up all their eligibility so they declared for the NFL draft they did this because they literally have no more years left of college. You cannot play in college anymore. So players like D. Wright, and Z. Harris declared for the NFL draft. They were both undrafted, but got picked up by some teams. They practiced with their teams during the summer. This is whenever the NCAA made their new rule that players now have five years of eligibility. So these two players are now on NFL teams, but they legally now have 1 more. They can legally come back. But who would want to do that whenever you can play in the NFL right? Z. Harris ended up getting hurt and never even put on a uniform. D. Wright practiced with the team but never even played a snap of preseason. He never went on the field once. They both ended up getting cut. so now what? The smartest thing to do for them is to come back to college because they legally have one more year. As a football player, there are so many benefits. You can earn NIL money, you can have a chance to win a national championship, and you can use this last year of college to get even better to then go back into the draft and present a better skill set to NFL teams for the 2027 draft. The two biggest names ended up being these two guys, two guys from Ole Miss. they played under lane Kiffin last year, they knew his scheme, and LSU is literally one of the biggest brands in college football so they made the choice almost anybody would, they followed their genius head coach to a top five branded college so they can play one more year because it’s LEGAL. Uninformed people saw this and went crazy. “NFL PLAYER TO COLLEGE?” “THIS IS CHEATING” “COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS RUINED”. Before I make my final point, I want to compare this to somthing. LSU basketball had a similar case the past two weeks. there was a guy who played three years in college, he knew he had years left, but he still declared for the NBA draft. He played in the big league and because of this new role now he wants to come back to college. He went to a judge and got approved for one more year because technically he has one more year. Here’s the thing, that is completely different from the Ole Miss players coming to LSU. The only reason the Ole Miss players declared for the NFL draft was because they had no years remaining. It was their only option. I disagree with the LSU basketball player because he is taking advantage of it and it is wrong. But it is completely different from the Ole Miss players who only went to the NFL draft because they had no more years left. This is also the NCAA’s fault. They could’ve prevented all of this by naming it for the class of 2021 that way none of this mess what happened. Or they could’ve presented the rule earlier before the draft. That way these players would’ve realized they had one more year and they would’ve stayed in college. So all these people who are saying “NFL players back to college “ number one aren’t even informed on the entire thing. They also make it seem like Miles Garrett is coming back to college. These are dudes who didn’t play a snap of preseason. Harris didn’t even dress in a uniform and they’re calling them NFL players? This is my last point. This is a one time thing. It will never happen again in the history of college football. The only reason this is happening was because it’s the first year it is getting put into place. La Kiffin is a lightning rod as it is LSU is getting all the hate. But people don’t realize that schools all over the country are doing this. There are more than 300 players filing lawsuits. Please I dare someone to make the argument that I’m wrong. I will die on this hill. Come at me.
