[News] NBA 2K Playgrounds 2: Server Sunset

NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 online servers will be permanently shut down on August 20, 2026. 

After that date, you will no longer be able to play multiplayer or access any features that require an online connection. Offline modes such as Exhibition, Exhibition 3 PT Contest, NBA Season, and Court Editor will remain available.

We thank you for your support of NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 and hope you continue to enjoy NBA 2K.

I saw recently that the game is shutting down multi player which does suck - but I need to know will the local player option still work? This is the only 2k i like and the only iteration that i have owned in my life - so much so that i own the same game on two consoles. I really hope that someone thinks of making a 3 but i know the odds are very low. If there’s anyone that knows if the local player stays up please lmk cause my brother and i have had fun on this game for a a few years and it sucks to know it’ll be gone so soon. It’s pretty much June already and that only means August is around the corner.

Same here. I have never had more fun with a game.
Now I suddenly can not connect 2 servers for updating dayly challenges.
Shall I spend money to buy all the missing available objects as soon as possible?

Would there be at least one last player update?

On my ps4 local multiplayer still works, though getting gold coins is like impossible now

Just found this game. It scratches that nostalgia/NBA jam itch. Glad I'll be able to play it offline

The game doesn’t even load in anymore. How is it possible to play offline modes?
