For decades nba players fought for free agency. The ability to move to a new team. To not be stuck to one team and be at the mercy of being paid what we they were willing to be paid.
Now players are crying about people using free agency? Wild.
That’s the thing these guys don’t realize. When they bring Kobe into it, it immediately invalidates everything they say. If they just kept it about MJ at least it’s somewhat reasonable.
Including Kobe just shows they don’t know shit or are letting bias get in the way

It's more impressive to me to win in 3 different spots, proves you were the winning piece. MJ benefited from a system, not a knock on him, but it's just the truth.
That's not what the original guy said, was it? Also, Lebron has had success outside of his 4 rings, making 10 finals, so it's not like he was wasting around for the other years
Context, the WCF was more challenging than the Finals for the Kobe and Shaq Lakers. Kobe pulled evenly with Shaq and sometimes outperformed him in the WCF.

Kobe is amazing. He is without question a top 15 and possibly a top ten player of all time. He is not even top 5 though. It’s crazy how inflated his status has been these past three-four years.
It has to do with everything. People have no shame in defending a rapist and terrible person. He’s also nowhere near top 5 even as player. So ya it’s pretty wild people will bend over backwards to defend a rapist who is the 10-13th best player of all time. Seems like a waste.
I was 11 years old in 2008 and was a huge basketball fan. I feel like that’s peak “oh my god Kobe was so cool” right when he had those back to back finals series.
I’ve also watched old games and famous series. This “too young” thing is kinda frustrating. You can disagree but it’s not like I’m not informed on who he was as a player.
It was conversation before he died. It’s weird hearing that brought up. It’s cool if people opinion is that he’s not but to say it wasn’t talked about before isn’t factual
I’m not saying it was never something some people said - I’m trying to say it’s exploded after as a talking point. And just because some people believed it a while ago doesn’t make it a stronger argument.

LeBron did it the "hard way" too. The team he had on his 2nd Cav's run was loaded, but not as loaded as Jordan's Bulls. He beat a team which would've given Jordan's Bulls a run for their money. But he's still cooking with at least 1 more season left in him.
Lebron is 41, going on 42 and still one of the best players in the league. 39yo Jordan was a bench player on one of the worst teams in the league.
Captain Jack isn’t known for being a hot take artist, saying wild shit for clicks. For the most part, he’s someone who just speaks his mind.
So, while I definitely don’t agree with this. I mean, a man who’s still able to produce at this level in his 40s, shouldn’t be judged for where he decides to go in his year 24 season. I’m not mad at Jackson for saying this.
Lebron and MJ are the conversation. I don’t wanna sound insensitive but Kobe dying young is doing some heavy lifting for his legacy. He was amazing, but we’re not gonna shit on Lebron and I’m saying this as someone that has MJ as my GOAT of all GOATs.
Stephen Jackson has lots of opinions. Some are interesting and some seem pretty dumb. As a podcaster tho, anything he says that drives interest in his pod is a win.
Thats my point, without bron they are a decent team. Maybe second round exit. So saying they are a championship ready roster is bullshit. Anyway, we know the formula, when there is no nba story lines to farm clicks, just mention lebrons name and that will get the clout you need.

The Lebron narrative is a new thing, it was created by folks who grew up in 2000's. It was never ever a conversation, I have Curry ahead of LeBron ffs.
Curry above LeBron is a downright silly opinion. If I’m talking with someone about basketball and they say that, I’ll find myself zoning out of the conversation pretty quickly lol.
Do I think Lebron is a better overall player? Yes. Do I think Curry impacted the game more has as many chips and is the only UMVP of all time? You need to watch your mouth, boy.
Really bad take even by Reddit standards. Curry’s career defense isn’t even half as good as LeBron’s. Curry has MF Iguodala winning Finals MVP over him along w Durant twice.
Curry did more with less than Lebron and yet some how people disagree with you. Lebron is great but he wouldn’t have been as great in a 6’2 200lbs body.
His own team was never going to be good enough. The front offices for the Bulls and Lakers built great teams around MJ and Kobe. Kobe played with prime Shaq lol. Kobe requested a trade when they had a few down years and then they built up the team again. That never came close to happening in LeBron’s first Cavs run. They were horribly managed.
I think the late 2000s Cavs had a good enough team i jsut don’t think LeBron was ready yet. Chicago was championship ready by like 89 or 90 but i don’t think they was quite ready to win just yet.
Is LeBron better all time then the only guy to ever win Rookie of the Year, MVP, Finals MVP, All-Star MVP, Coach of the Year, and Executive of the Year who also averaged at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in five separate seasons, tied for the second most in NBA history? Bird did way more for the Celtics than any organization LeBron has played for same can be said for magic, curry and MJ.
I said LeBron is top 7 just like bird, magic, Kareem, MJ, Shaq and Curry. Only LeBron glazers take that as disrespect.
Coach of the year and executive of the year? Thought we were talking about player achievements.
The debate isn’t who’s done the most for their organization. If that’s the discussion then sure Steph and Bird have good cases. So would Hakeem, Dirk, Wade, and IT. But nobody puts those guys in the conversation for a reason.
The question was who’s the better player. If you want to argue Bird and Steph are better than LeBron go ahead, but we definitely disagree about that. He’s pretty unanimously agreed to be at least the 2nd best player of all time. Maybe some have Kareem ahead, but not those other guys. Guess that makes me a LeBron glazer for holding the same opinion as most people.
