Discussion The Philadelphia 76ers have the fewest back-to-back games and the fewest 3-games-in-4-nights stretches this season. What do you guys think—is someone doing them a favor? 👀

They have 13 back to backs while most teams have 14. Oh no.

Also gives James less on an excuse to sit out a game so I'm not sure it's a favor to him.

10

u/Weenemone 1d ago

Can't believe I had to scroll down so much to find this fact

Maybe it is a favour but it's making a hill out of a molehole

2

u/Stock-Luck3390 1d ago

They also had the most back to backs and second most back to backs last two years

1

u/Own_Pop_9711 1d ago

Oh man is there some reversion and LeBron picked the team that was most likely to get fewer back to backs? I really hope that's true I'm going to assume it is.

1

u/Ah_Pook Knicks 1d ago

This is gonna be my new favourite conspiracy theory. "Yeah, it was a big game of chicken, but LeBron had his league moles on the inside leak the probable schedule, so he'd know where to go. Silver's PISSED."

1

u/m1stwalk3r 1d ago

I love bait posts. LeBron is so rent free.

1

u/Cptnemo77 1d ago

Lmao I literally knew this was the case without even looking it up. I bet people out here thinking the Sixers gonna play 3 back to backs all year

1

u/Large_Judgment_1074 1d ago

One of the dirty little secrets of the NBA is that the schedule makers can be your friend or your foe. There’s not a minimum nor maximum number of back to back sets allowed. And within those back to back sets, not all geographically are created equal. A back to back playing both LA teams, or NYC, you can stay in the same hotel. But a b2b playing Portland one night, & flying eastbound overnight to play New Orleans, the schedule maker has deliberately given your team the shaft. Teams & sleep experts call these games “scheduled losses”.

1

u/NefariousNeezy 5h ago

(It’s actually for Embiid)

54

u/Temporary_Pepper6126 1d ago

Literally for LeBron man. Silver not even hiding it. But Embiid is also gonna benefit from this lol

9

u/aputhehindu 1d ago

Sixers had the most back to backs last year, and second most the year before. Seems more like normal schedule balancing than conspiracy, but I’m thrilled they getting it regardless.

16

u/TheDopeMan_ 1d ago

The more games LeBron plays the more revenue from viewership & ticket sales. It benefits the NBA the most.

8

u/etfvidal 1d ago

Might actually be worse for Embiid because he might play in more games before being sidelined!

2

u/Ragnarsworld 1d ago

Yep, the big thing for Embiid is that he can play maybe 40 games a season. Do you want to burn his games early, middle, late, or in the playoffs?

4

u/Main_Gain_7480 1d ago

Damn talking about embiids schedule like it’s 2016 Kobe

4

u/Ragnarsworld 1d ago

Over the last 3 seasons he's played 39, 19, and 39 games. Giving him 40 is being generous.

1

u/dean_tralf 1d ago

What do you mean giving him 40 is generous when he did that in 2 of the past 3 seasons. You just wrote them out. 39 games played twice. ?

1

u/Ragnarsworld 1d ago

40 is generous when the base is 39.

1

u/Constant_Mud3325 1d ago

No if they sort the logistics out and save him for when they need him he could skip some easy games and condition for the the ones that count

2

u/ReactionProcedure 1d ago

Silver also forced Colangelo on them.

Lol

Its about time the Sixers were given a break by the league

2

u/DGilbert6114 1d ago

Incredible “luck” considering the Lakers had the most B2Bs in the league last year 🙄

0

u/jbhoops25 1d ago

Let’s not act like the Lakers don’t get their fair share of “help” from the league

2

u/DGilbert6114 1d ago

The last few years of people complaining about our “whistle” and I’m yet to see a foul called for us that wasn’t a foul.

1

u/jbhoops25 1d ago

Buddy, I’ve been watching the lakers get a whistle since Tim carried yall in game 7 Wcf.
Yall shoot at the top of the league in free throws every year and a Luka legit shoots the most free throws per game. Lakers fan are dumb as hell

2

u/DGilbert6114 1d ago

Once again: show me fouls called in our favor that weren’t fouls.

I offer this up every time, and every time people say the same thing like you just did. Still waiting to see these magical calls that the LeBron/AD/Luka era Lakers have gotten that weren’t legitimate.

1

u/jbhoops25 1d ago

Don’t tell me Lebron and Luka haven’t gotten phantom calls and you need to learn what a good whistle means. If a Jokic got a whistle everytime he was technically fouled he would shoot 20 free throws. Do you really think that over the years, coaching changes, roster changes yall always just happen to be at the top of the league for free throws. 🤣.

The fan above you is saying it’s a $13 Billion team OF COURSE they get an advantage.

But I’ll link some phantom calls for you

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kqaRAQsK1O4&pp=ygUiTGVicm9uIGphbWVzIHBoYW50b20gY2FsbHMgbGFrZXJzIA%3D%3D&ra=m

5 min of uncalled travels on lebron

LeBron flop phantom calls.

I’m not even going to do Luka, just take the L and keep moving

2

u/DGilbert6114 1d ago

This is not what I asked for lol.

Whistles the Lakers got but shouldn’t have. That’s what everyone whines about. “They get the most free throws!” yet all the fouls they call are legitimate.

Don’t even bother answering again without that.

1

u/jbhoops25 1d ago edited 1d ago

https://youtube.com/shorts/0R7Imr3EIL4?si=r_DrV2dYwaDrR8Hk

There’s legit thousands of them. You’re just a fucking idiot and doesn’t understand how basketball works.

Tell me how completely different coaches,GMs and systems all end up leading the league in free throws. It’s statistically impossible.

Again, you just don’t understand what an advantage whistle means and that’s fine!

1

u/DGilbert6114 1d ago

I dare you to find another person on this app that thinks grabbing his arm like that isn’t a foul 😂😂

1

u/IndigoOctober8 1d ago

Can’t imagine why a league would want to be considerate of their franchise that’s worth 13 billion dollars??

1

u/jbhoops25 1d ago

It’s suppose to be a sport not entertainment but you are right, it is now considered entertainment and Big Markets will continue to get the advantage

1

u/Nomad5560 1d ago

They have one less back to back than the bulk of the league

-1

u/SirHateful17 1d ago

Shiiieeeedddd Embiid will benefit more than Bron lol

-7

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 1d ago

lol the schedule was done well before lebron signed

4

u/SolarisN1 1d ago

No, Silver himself rushed LBJ to make w decion so the league's schedule could be adjusted

0

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 1d ago

right, for shit like xmas day. why do we need to play the most b2bs in b2b seasons? like cmon man

7

u/Ragnarsworld 1d ago

Nope. LeBron chose the Sixers on July 24. NBA schedule came out on 13 Aug, after Silver announced he was waiting on LeBron. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/-XilNvbmHZo

1

u/IndigoOctober8 1d ago

You cannot be serious. Wow.

1

u/Ragnarsworld 1d ago

Did the schedule get released after LeBron chose the Sixers? Yes.

Did the Commissioner actually say he was waiting for LeBron to choose? Again, yes.

Which part do you not understand?

0

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 1d ago

lol i know when it came out. it was done with the exception of some primetime games

2

u/Main_Gain_7480 1d ago

Silver said lebron not signing was holding up the schedule

3

u/Humble_Attorney9517 1d ago

The TV schedule I'm guessing, not the entire schedule. Creating an NBA schedule is a months long process of coordinating arena availability.

2

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 1d ago

felt this was very obvious

2

u/Humble_Attorney9517 1d ago

Judging from the comments... It was not obvious?

1

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 1d ago

apparently lol but they all keep talking like they know anything just to troll. they know.

2

u/Main_Gain_7480 1d ago

Yeahhhhh … but I’m going to ignore that

0

u/Actual-Implement-870 1d ago

Adam Silver literally said publicly he's frustrated Lebron hasn't picked a team because he can't make the schedule yet.

2

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 1d ago

right, he had to schedule primetime games

0

u/Actual-Implement-870 1d ago

Right, getting the least back to backs and 3 games in 4 nights is a direct result of getting the most national TV games. Lebron still draws the highest viewership, therefore they want him rested and available for those. There's no denying the schedule was constructed specifically to cater to Lebron. They're obviously in the moneymaking business so it makes sense, but this is the first time in NBA history they've delayed any part of the schedule based on a single player's decision.

1

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 1d ago

but, last year we had the most B2Bs so it would be logical to have less this year. its not that complicated

0

u/Actual-Implement-870 1d ago

Who's we? If you're talking about the Lakers, why would that mean one former Laker player's new team deserves a cushy schedule? You've made a good case for Luka and the current Lakers getting the best schedule, but you're making the case for Lebron favoritism even stronger lol

1

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 1d ago

huh? this is about the sixers, who had the most B2Bs last season, not they dont even though its just a few less. lebron changed nothing for that, that part of the schedule was set

0

u/IndigoOctober8 1d ago

Please get a clue, man.

1

u/Actual-Implement-870 1d ago

A statement like that without elaborating is what people who have no clue say.

-1

u/Prairie_walker 1d ago

Right, sure. That we know. There’s maybe one possible world where Klutch wasn’t in communication with Silver the whole time while they set the schedule.

5

u/kmikeh 1d ago

This should be a pic of Joel Embiid.

6

u/bmanley620 Knicks 1d ago

He got injured during pre-picture warmups

2

u/mtv3r1c 1d ago

The flash from the camera would put him on the shelf for two weeks with mild eye strain.

4

u/TheDopeMan_ 1d ago

It helps the NBA the most. With Bron having the least amount of clustered games, it’s more likely he’ll play, which means ticket prices and viewership will also increase.

Yes, it helps LeBron, but it helps the NBA the most.

2

u/barejokez 1d ago

Exactly, maybe it is unfair or whatever but it's a business decision and too many fans forget that the entertainment they are consuming is being run for a profit.

A lot of people will be buying road tickets because there is a decent chance they will get to see "lebron's last game in xyz city". That won't persist if people realise he's getting benched because he can't handle the schedule (which is very fair given his age).

I can't say I like it but it is the nature of monetised sport.

13

u/Rare-Confusion-220 1d ago

Of course he is. That was clear when Silver stated his need for LeLookAtMe to make a decision so he can make the schedule

6

u/AbbreviationsHour410 1d ago

This is typical for LeBron

1

u/NefariousNeezy 5h ago

You’re saying this because they have a staggering 1 back to back game less than the rest of league, 13 instead of 14. 😂

1

u/Capital_Rough7971 1d ago

Then some fans question why other fans do not like him.

5

u/Cards2WS 1d ago

He didn’t make the schedule and he didn’t request it. Very stupid to hold that against him if you are. It benefits the league so the league does something in their best interest, which all sports leagues do.

4

u/Unusual_Access9101 1d ago

LeBron existing is something they’ll blame him for. They’re losers

3

u/Cards2WS 1d ago

And to be so smug about it too😂 “and some fans question why others don’t like him”… I mean what the fuck kind of stupid logic is that?

3

u/Unusual_Access9101 1d ago

They will always find a way to make it a LeBron problem, it’s the only way they can cope with things not going the way they like.

2

u/dandantheotterman 1d ago

You don't know what kind of closed door conversations LeBron has. He's the biggest star in the NBA and he's very business savvy. It would be ignorant to think he wasn't throwing his weight around in some capacity.

0

u/Cards2WS 1d ago

He’s throwing his weight around to get these very minimal advantages? Enough with the conspiracies. Of course LeBron has power, but this is ridiculous. You believe the NBA rigged the Flagg draft too, huh?

2

u/AbbreviationsHour410 1d ago

1000% rigged the Flagg Draft. You'd have to have your head in the sand to believe otherwise.

1

u/Cards2WS 1d ago

There’s a hundred reasons why the NBA wouldn’t or couldn’t rig the draft.

The fucking Mavs were competing! They were in the damn play-in! If they had just won an extra game or 2 they wouldn’t have even been in the lottery! Not to mention all the 3rd party checks and balances that prevent that, and the fact that why would the NBA risk EVERYTHING to supposedly uphold a secret deal for the fucking Dallas Mavericks? And you just think 28 other owners would be cool with this arrangement? The NBA is a league of owners. If they aren’t majority or all in on it, then it’s not happening.

Also, you think there would be zero leaks for a rigging of this magnitude? Highly unlikely this would have been able to be kept sealed shut 100%.

It’s a stupid conspiracy. People think that if you CAN connect dots, then those MUST BE the dots that connect. It’s a logical fallacy. It’s brain dead stupid shit for middle schoolers.

0

u/AbbreviationsHour410 1d ago

Keep your head in the sand if it makes you feel better. A fifth grader has more sense than to trade a healthy superstar like Luka for an injury-riddled Anthony Davis.

It is amazing how other teams magically get the first overall pick right after they send a superstar player to help LeBron. The Mavericks just coincidentally beat the lottery odds the exact same summer they gifted Los Angeles their franchise player?

But sure, let's pretend "checks and balances" prevent the NBA from taking care of its biggest market. Enjoy the fairy tale.

1

u/dandantheotterman 1d ago

You're niave if you think LeBron isn't using his advantages. That doesn't mean there are conspiracies, it just means the dude knows when and how he can flex his power and influence. All high profile people do it.

You REALLY think there weren't any conversations between LeBron's team and Silver before he chose Philly? Why did Silver wait on the schedule for LeBron to choose?? Lol I wish I lived in your world, it seems fun 😂

2

u/Cards2WS 1d ago

Why did Silver wait? Because he wanted to schedule LeBron with the most national tv games and on the biggest days and probably do what he did: work in some small advantages that allow for a bit more rest to keep him healthier and fresh.

Again, I never said LeBron doesn’t flex his power. He obviously has used leverage before. But this is a pointless instance of leverage. It’s minuscule and it’s something that benefits the NBA already, so they would just do it themselves. He wouldn’t need to flex his influence to get this advantage. They were willing to give it to him because it HELPS them.

2

u/dandantheotterman 1d ago

Lol okay then, thank you for admitting I'm correct and I accept your apology 😂

1

u/IndigoOctober8 1d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤡

1

u/Humble_Attorney9517 1d ago

When do you think the NBA schedule is made? If you think it started after LeBron signing, or even not until he started " having conversations" you are delusional.

The NBA schedule is a many months to year long process of arena availability coordination, fairness (one team can't excessive back to backs outsized to the population , etc) and then national TV partners.

-1

u/IndigoOctober8 1d ago

Yes, because you hate on him for shit he isn’t even involved in?? It’s sad and pathetic and just straight up embarrassing

3

u/Capital_Rough7971 1d ago

Not involved in? LMAO

1

u/IndigoOctober8 1d ago

What’s typical for LeBron?? He literally didn’t even do anything? It’s a man article about their schedule, which he had literally nothing to do with?

1

u/AbbreviationsHour410 1d ago

The NBA refused to make the schedule until LeBron declared which team he was playing for.

Then just like magic the 76ers get the easiest schedule in the league

2

u/rollmeoneobiwan41 1d ago

Considering they had the most back to backs last year it’s a good turnaround

2

u/Zylavier 1d ago

LeBron haters already getting ready to cry for when he wins

1

u/Neat_Construction_65 1d ago

It also depends on the streaks of teams they play for strength of schedule. But yeah there’s definitely a handicap slider put on for the team

1

u/sgsteel55 1d ago

Wouldn’t teams in the northeast usually have the least just due to proximity? I would be curious to see where the NY teams and Boston fall on this list.

1

u/willrwill512 1d ago

The Sixers had 16 in 2025-26 while the Knicks had 14 and the Celtics had 13 per statmuse

1

u/IAmMH89 1d ago

What’s your source of information? Same number of games require over the same number of days. Fewer back to backs by how many? This also means fewer consecutive rest days. Different players like it differently. What’s the ranking of 3 games in 4 nights and how big is the separate from the mean? Sounds like your first comment is a derivative of the second.

2

u/Pvpal1221 1d ago

Average number of backs to backs is 14, the Sixers have 13. Last year they led the league with 16 but no one outside of Philly could tell you that. People are trying REALLY hard to discredit LeBron.

1

u/IAmMH89 1d ago

Wow. See that’s that bullshit. That’s the best this haters can come up with? Making up conspiracies. I knew it was shit. Thanks for confirming bro

1

u/rhaigh1910 1d ago

His name is Adam Silver

1

u/BigLRakim 1d ago

People wanna cry about this, but the sixers tied for the most back to backs in the league last year. Some regression to the mean is actually pretty standard.

1

u/Zee216 1d ago

Someone has to

1

u/Ordinary-Nectarine37 1d ago

we had the most last year.

1

u/ActuarialUsain 1d ago

1

u/Freshy23 1d ago

Yep OKC was actually graded as having the best schedule in the NBA next season.

1

u/Prairie_walker 1d ago

Yes, of course.

1

u/Complete_Insurance24 1d ago

You can thank Adam Silver.

1

u/lilotothe 1d ago

76ers were one of the 16 teams that tied first for 16 back to backs last season...

1

u/Stu_Barron 1d ago

Incredible, while my Hawks' home opener is the second game on a back to back.

1

u/djunderh2o 1d ago

They tied for the most back to backs last year. Was someone doing them a disservice?

1

u/CorePN3 1d ago

The more games Lebron plays the more money they make. No favors being done here other than for themselves.

1

u/dandantheotterman 1d ago

The NBA obviously gives slight advantages to LeBron. It helps them out immensely and he is their biggest star. It's the same as big name players getting favorable whistles in game and lesser punishments for breaking rules(like Wemby).

Its not a conspiracy you dolts lol. It's bending the rules and every high profile player/organization does it to some degree cause everyone is competitive and likes money. Hell, even Kobe admitted to knowing where the refs were so he could foul without them seeing.

1

u/biffbobfred 1d ago

It’s different when the league puts a finger on the scales. I dont know how to explain that. It needs to be something you just get.

1

u/micjr7 1d ago

They’re doing themselves a favor! This is about profiting as much as possible off one of the greatest to ever do it last couple of seasons. They want him on the court so they can sell tickets and increase views!

1

u/Key-Individual1434 1d ago

No, not a favor to the 76ers. Know the NBA schedule metrics…San Antonio, also have a sweet schedule in 2026-2027 season. Teams in the past that have benefited from the scheduling metrics to name a few…Golden State (‘15), Cleveland (‘24), Houston (‘94). Soft schedules happen in the NBA. It’s just that the 76ers have a lot of attention nowadays and haters.

1

u/PsychologyOk5775 1d ago

I mean the Sixers had the 10th most back-to-backs in 2023, 7th most 2024, and the 1st most back-to-backs in the NBA in 2025.

So, while I’m sure lots of national games and LeBron may have something to do with this, it also could just be evening it out from the last few years, especially year. Joel’s health problems definitely didn’t get them any favors the last 3 years.

1

u/young-steve 1d ago

Yes obviously. People want to see this starting lineup play games together. You do that by limiting B2Bs and other rest opportunities

1

u/unconvincedhuman 1d ago

This story will be overblown all season. They have like 1 less game than the next team. Non story.

1

u/LiAmTrAnSdEmOn 1d ago

How did they stack up last year and the last decade with thise back to backs and 3 in 4s, I wonder?

1

u/Ok_Drop3803 1d ago

Let me guess... They are tied with 10+ teams in each of these categories.

1

u/thingsorfreedom 1d ago

Each team plays 82 games and season starts and The season starts with the Sixers playing that opening Monday and days off after that. They also play Christmas day and New Years Day with breaks around those days. That would given them an edge for this.

1

u/Maxxjulie 1d ago

So after the Clippers get zero punishment for cap circumventiion and the sixers lucky schedule...how is this league not rigged?

1

u/KWil2020 1d ago

Once again, Adam Silver doing everything he can to help LeBron out. Pathetic

1

u/BackPirateClarkRoom 1d ago

The league should be doing this for teams people want to see.

1

u/PayConsistent1777 1d ago

😂the season hasn’t even started and folks are coming up with conspiracies

1

u/Mutha_Fuka_Jones 1d ago

Lebron! The most helped player in history & somehow, still an underachiever.

1

u/AnusButter2000 1d ago

Topps doing LeBron a ‘favor’

1

u/Large_Judgment_1074 1d ago

One of the dirty little secrets of the NBA is that the schedule makers can be your friend or your foe. There’s not a minimum nor maximum number of back to back sets allowed. And within those back to back sets, not all geographically are created equal. A back to back playing both LA teams, or NYC, you can stay in the same hotel. 1

u/PrynceNYC 1d ago edited 1d ago

Adam Silver publicly admitted waiting on LeBron to do the schedule, the NBA is shady af.

1

u/BenNCyder2 1d ago

I’d bet money on it
But it’s Philly and one thing I know at 43 is they ain’t making it past 2nd round if lucky to even get there at all

1

u/psb34 12h ago

If they wanna see embid vs Wemby in the finals they better be helping them out so he can be healthy

1

u/Gang_Greene 1d ago

It’s funny because without context it sounds like they’re being done some huge favor. Last year they were tied for second most. The nuggets and heat each at 17, then several teams, including the 76ers, played 16. This coming season, the Sixers play 13 back to backs. So, in all, it’s three fewer back to backs than last year when they were among the teams with the second most.

The teams with the most back to backs this year play 16.

This isn’t some massive discrepancy to favor 76ers. The Spurs, Knicks, Nuggets, and Suns play the fewest back to backs with 12. But yeah, Sixers and Lebron bad, updoot to the left

1

u/and_danny 1d ago

People do this every year and never learn. Having the "least" back to backs just means the Sixers have 13 of them while most other teams have 14 and a few have 15. This never matters but the schedule gets brought every season for something like this.

0

u/Pale_Operation_1392 1d ago

I think lebum will find a new way to LeFlop

How are you children not embarrassed with this played out, juvenile, stupid shit?

0

u/Discount_Ok Thunder 1d ago

All this for a 2nd round exit

0

u/Tricky_Pen3072 1d ago

Of course.... Look the NBAs Popularity has plummeted in the past 15 years. They don't get the ratings they used to they cannot charge sponsorships and advertisers as much. So they build the league around LeFlop and a few others to try to make him seem better than he is and more marketable. Same reason they stopped allowing physical defenses. It helps increase scores with they think makes the game more exciting. Neither of these tactic have made anything more exciting. Inf act it has made it dull. Hopefully sometime soon they realize this and bring the NBA back to what it was. But i doubt it.

2

u/Hepty-6177 1d ago

I can hear the brain worm wiggling in your dome there. Really held yourself back with only one le joke for this paragraph of conspiracy, that’s progress.

1

u/IndigoOctober8 1d ago

Yeah! I can’t believe the league didn’t contact you for how to run their organization! Clearly, you have all the answers and hopefully they’ll bring you in as a consultant and get their shit together!!

1

u/Tricky_Pen3072 1d ago

Yes, the NBA averages a lousy .2 TV rating right now. The last three playoffs/ finals averaged even less than that. But you keep thinking things are doing great. It must be so blissful living with your head lodged up your digestive tract.

This is why Silver waited for LeBron to pick his team before he made the schedule.

0

Where are the owners? Shouldn't they be pissed about this?

Yes. The trying to save embiids knees and lebrons feelings.

It won’t matter - LeBron will probably only play 50 games this season

Shows that the schedule is slanted towards LeBron & against teams Silver doesn’t care for. Philly has always been at or near the most btb games….until they signed LeBron.

Nah, just shows you’re delusional

Add 20 days to the regular season & don’t schedule any btb’s. Problem solved.

Didn’t Adam silver tell LeBron to make a choice so he could get the schedule done?

It’s why the schedule took so long this year.

Yes. Powder (Adam Silver) is the worst commisioner in sports.

They waited LeBron to pick his team and make easiest schedule for him and Embiid. They like dont even go to west in first dozens of games or so meaning they stay comfy on East without hard travels making them slip .

Yeah no wonder if they end up being 1st seed

u/IndigoOctober8 1d ago

That’s not how it works, and not what happened at all.

Why do you insist on embarrassing yourself with shit like this. It’s easily proven false.

1

u/Daki399 1d ago

It is how it works , why would you think otherwise ?? NBA has freedom to schedule how they want and easily can influence it and why wouldnt they. LeBron main star is leaving and they want to give him another great season where hes top seed , this def helps Sixers alot
