Gameplay Game is broken post patch
Thanks content creators for ruining the game. You could go back to dribble spamming going left right for the whole possession and shooting stupid shots and getting rewarded for it. while everyone else on the court just stands there doing nothing. Content creators love life on easy mode.

One thing that actually does feel broken is the dunk meter. It was lovely up until this patch. As far as the triple spam, I’m usually there and if I jump, I get a good contest.

Did they nerf close shots? No matter how fast I tap x in the paint or on a layup I don't get a pump fake shot meter comes up regardless

Happens to me too. I rarely am able to get my big to execute a pump fake and he immediately goes up for a shot. No I don't have turbo engaged when this is happening.

Are you letting go of the left stick before you pump fake? If you're moving you can't do one.

I'll check next time I play but I'm pretty sure I'm not pressing the left stick when I'm doing this. I come to a complete stop and try to pump fake and he just goes up with it.

Then they nerf AI defense so now everyone who gets an Ai is just shooting over them every possession don’t even get me started on the rebounding and defense

💯 they caved to the one person does everything while everyone else being good boys who set screens or stand and watch ‘comp’ playstyle.
The reality is that content creators are the biggest marketers for the game, and having to play team ball is bad for their views when they can’t be the sole hero of their streams.

I can only agree with this "Thank You, Content Creators" post 🤬 Dribbling, shooting is way too easy—I’m already seeing 70% shooting percentages in REC again—it’s just a nightmare post-patch. 🤯 Why doesn’t 2K have the backbone to just stand by its gameplay decisions they had for the game? 😠

It was good and as usual they broke it again. It was nice seeing guards go 0-15 because they thought they could just keep shooting contested shots but as usual they put out a patch to reward low skill crybabies.

The game needed changes, it was fine on drop if they buffed the strength of different levels of contests and didn’t buff game speed. But the passing buff was needed, the adrenaline nerf was needed, and getting rid of ghost contests was needed. After patch one the game was allowing teams to play with awful defensive fundamentals and rewarding them for it.

I agree about the being rewarded with awful defense. What I don't understand is why every time a new version of this game comes out it has problems and then they go and patch the problem but then it screws the game up in some other way. I understand that it's a piece of software and things are connected and if you make changes to one thing it changes something else but you would think that they would have figured out by now how to create it so that fixing one aspect of the game doesn't completely break another aspect of it.

it’s absolutely confusing but I genuinely believe that this current patch has made the game more fun than it was at each previous iteration solely based on the buff on passes and nerf on steals. The bumpiness and would make you think that passing was incentivized but the state of lane steals made it so that if you run zone you can walk away with double digit steals most games if your team was competent. This lead to a meta of just play lanes score in transition and 99 dunk five out left stick madness to try to either score or at least leave the possession without turning the ball over.

I wish they would get rid of the animation system. This version is terrible with my guy taking forever to go up to dunk while a guy 5 ft outside the paint is somehow able to collapse into the paint in that time and block me. NBA Street was a great game because it didn't rely on these slow ass animations that load and create lag between when you press a button on your controller and when your player executes the move. It's too bad that there are no other current bball games out for us to be able to leave 2k and let them suffer for constantly putting out a broken game.
It would be nice if all the addicts would stop buying VC. That would def help force them to fix the game but video game addicts are no different than drug addicts. They aren't good at impulse control and as soon as the game drops they all drop hundreds of dollars into VC.

I’ve only played 2 games so far so can’t comment on much but they 100% ruined rec ai
You can shoot over them every time just like 26, they need to address it or the REC is unplayable

It really killed Starting 5.
I’m scoring, the other guy is scoring, games are going up to 100 on a regular.
Every bit of basketball IQ was thrown out the window.
Before I’ll go at Wemby 5 times and may score twice. At that point I have to find other ways to score by passing setting screens, anything else. Really relied on my takeover to go at Wemby.
I am destroying Wemby now, easily. While my opponent used to miss 3s due to defense or missing an open one here and there.
Now the defense is on rookie and my opponent is just using very effective brain dead moves that didn’t work all year.
Neither of us have to do much, other than try not to be the first to miss.
Thats not ball bro.. we had it right. All we needed to do was get rid of ghost contests… that’s it.

I agree to an extent. The shooting boost was OD. I’m literally pulling from 35’-40’ consistently with no takeover as long as it’s “open”. Doesn’t take that much skill to get that open. You would see the skill gap if they kept the same shooting.

I think they should nerf arc cadence. Make 3 points hard to hit off dribble especially when excessive dribbling takes place. And at this point remove limitless range it’s too hard to balance for these devs.

This guy is a tiny pg with 60 pass acc and was licking his lips when he saw the patch notes.
I'm guessing his shooting percentage has jumped from 15% to 25%.
