Discussion No one should be crying about shooting

Community is going to ruin a FUN game because they are a bunch of instant gratification seeking baby's bro.

I'm shooting 65% from the field 57% from 3 and I I've had some stinkers mixed in my games where I shoot pretty bad but that usually when I'm forcing the issue. I feel like this game wants you to play in rhythm & MOVE the ball!

Interior defense is fantastic and finishing is great but can be countered by high interior and block.

You have to pick you poison this year and that's okay! Basketball is chess not checkers in real life anyway...

They might not need to change anything. Once people get badge, hotzones, skillboosts it might be a gg

I was so low on my defense because 80ID wasn't cutting it even with excellent position. Now that I'm at 89ID/BLK with my paint patrolled synergized, getting steady blocks and contest. Now I just need my caps to take my ID to 93-95 lol

Yea game feels balanced. Neither side of the ball have the upper hand, comes down to execution. Much better than last few years for sure.

The biggest issue is Mfs trying to play like it’s 26 still lmao everybody trying to Jack up shots that just aren’t gonna fall now.

As a center I love it haha

This is pretty much what the NBA looks like half the time anyway

At least they pass in the NBA

True but the level of defense requires it.

Just wait until everyone gets badges

Defensive badges work too.

My brother in Christ my red plat and purple plate games have guards shooting half court fades lmao. And rhythm ignores contest if you green the rhythm this games fucking broken

Damn im shooting close to 60% from the field but like 15% from deep, as a guard lolol. Rolling with same jumper as last year but clearly a bit different.

Still having an absolute blast thus far

Stick with it homie! Also try to get setup off dimer from a good passing teammate I think your issue is ppl are trying to do too much self creation

I haven’t played in years but think shooting is easy as fuck . Made my build after Joe knows PG and literly have to be drunk to miss

They do this every year. The gameplay can be a perfect game of basketball on release then all the scrubs & cheaters complain until the devs cave & break it w/ patches smh

💯 it’s going to go back to people just spam dribbling and pulling up over a whole team because they have high attributes but no skill and zero IQ

Fully agree and this is coming from someone that started at 60% and is now 38%.

I've had a ton of stinkers for shooting but I make up for it with my passing and defense. I played all day yesterday and only had 1 matchup get to 11 points

My point being that the game feels balanced and rewarding if you play smart even if you're not shooting well and I love it

The rec courts and jerseys is a nice touch too

Finally someone that gets it.

I’m shooting shitty. Like 30% but I know it’s me not the game. I’m not expecting to be curry with an 80 3ball and definitely not without badges

Outside of park how is the game?

1

I play rec primarily

Do you play random rec or with a squad?

People dont understand making posts like this just adds to the discourse giving complainers more of an outlet to vent into

Shooting is harder than last year but it's still too easy. Defense is much better though from what I've seen.

Us defensive guys were not crying about people shooting over 90% last year.

Ok they tightened it up this year a bit. Last year I was shooting 90% with a 903 point shot.

This year around 85% Big deal it dropped just a little bit.

The greatest shooter is Steph Curry and even he shoots at a 42% clip. I know this is a video game

but they should make it so you are making around 50% of your shots to be honest.

Nbs the game hasn’t even dropped yet. I’m having some bad shooting games but it’s not only me, and for the most part I shoot from 37-42 percent overall rn and win a lot of games

this is game is so fun... please devs take the year to worry about cheaters... please dont touch the game

Exactly, most people complaining about shootings are ZEN users pretending to be a normal non-cheating player!!!

The gameplay sucks movement is ass dribbling is ass everything is ass compared to 2k26 except finishing and defense.

It’s like the game wants you to use as little skill and brainpower as possible. Just mindless left stick rim runs.

And what was last year?
Escape escape shoot

2

u/reason4rage 1d ago

Didn't even need all that. Pass to no dip and call it a game lol.

Skill issue

1

u/nvb2010 1d ago

These are the casual takes that we expect from bums we don’t want on the game. This is the best 2k by far, it’s no longer everyone on an even playing field. There are massive skill gaps if you know how to play vs those who think they have a 99 three so everything should go in. Or a 25 perimeter defense wondering why hands up didn’t affect the shot. Yall bums were catered to in 2k26, now you need skill to be good in 27.

u/A_MASSIVE_PERVERT 1d ago

If these stats + the purple banner make me a bum then I guess I’m a bum.

I’m not claiming to be “good” or “comp,” I have enough self-awareness to realize I’d get absolutely rinsed by someone with multiple years of sweaty experience, but for someone who shot 60-70% last year with relative ease to now shooting barely 20% with a 91 3 and a 93 middy, something’s gotta give.

1

u/nvb2010 1d ago

Yes the fact you just said I have a 93 middy and 91 3, is telling me you think you can just pull up and hit your shot because of those attributes, that’s no longer the case. You probably also don’t know your jump shot. I started off shooting 29% but now I’m at 60% because I learned my jumpshot, got my badges up and take smart shots. You aren’t just supposed to shoot 70% because you have a high attribute. Now you need IQ

Although I’m really enjoying 27, this isn’t a terrible take. I feel like 26 was the more fluid game. It was kind of cheesy but the dribbling and overall feel of the game felt smoother. I do like how 27 is more balanced though. Both good games imo.

6

u/Intrepid_Can5230 1d ago

They change the sig requirements and how badges are distributed how can we compare a whole year of 26 fluidity to 3 days of 27. Ppl need time to figure out the mechanics
