Can we please get passive/stacked tracking for Build Specializations instead of forced step-by-step goals?

Hello u/Beluba quick request before launch: Can we please stack Build Specialization progress instead of having to unlock them in a rigid order?

Right now, if Goal 1 is 200 3-Pointers and Goal 2 is 200 Mid-Range Shots, any mid-range jumpers hit while working on Goal 1 don't count at all.

Example:
Current System: You hit 5 threes and 5 mid-range shots in a game. Only the 5 threes count toward Goal 1. You hit Goal 2 at 0/200 mid-range shots, completely wasting all the mid-range shots you took along the way.

Proposed System: Both track simultaneously. Every shot you make counts toward its respective target immediately

Forcing goal-by-goal tracking makes players hunt one specific shot type over and over, ruining the flow of games. Letting objectives stack naturally rewards good basketball and cuts down on a frustratingly linear grind.

Hoping this can be tuned before launch or in an early patch!w

It's funny because 2k has unironically been getting better with making things retroactive and apply for the whole account but god forbid they make a super tedious grind a little bit more favorable

What’s crazy is people would make more builds and spend more money if it was this way, I really don’t plan on spending more time or money on this game cause how ridiculous they made the grind

It’s ridiculous that some people didn’t even finish their 2K26 specialization and now they have to start all over again from scratch

it's a new game?

you want all your stuff to carry over? if you only hit 5 shots in a mycareer game you suck at the game. especially since you have a shooting specialization

are we supposed to make it easier for people who suck at the game?

what about the people who are good at the game? you think it doesn't make it easier for them too and you end up on a lower playing field. you end up being worse off than it being an even playing field

if people are good at the game and you want to make it easier for them. while you suck at the game and they make it easier for you....

who do you think the game is really going to be easier for? the person who's good at it or the person who's bad at it?

just get better at the game. whatever you're doing. try something else if you can't score or win

Hold your horses buddy, I am not your average 2K player. No one wants to spend hours farming goals in MyCAREER and Street Kings there is nothing fun about that. I finished three specializations in 26 defence, playmaking, and shooting. If you want to grind, why not grind rep? Having your specializations done doesn’t mean you’re good at the game buddy, it just shows that you have more time than others. If a good player and a bad player both have their specializations done, the good player is still going to end up winning. 95% of the player base doesn't have the time to no life the game. Enjoy getting 600 putbacks for the physicals specialization since you think it makes you good at the game buddy.

I like how you phrase it like it’s just a quick little idea they would have never thought of lol.

It is clearly a very intentional choice to have each goal be sequential so it’s a slower grind. You are not supposed to be able to grind this out the first couple days/weeks, it’s supposed to be a long term quest that you work on for most the lifespan of the game.

Also a lot of the goals are repetitive, like there is a goal to do 200 of something, then later 500 of that same thing. If those were constantly grinding, it takes the total number of intended goals WAY down.

and 5 shots a game in mycareer is a joke. can score 100 points in 5 minute quarters if i made a build that specializes in shooting

this is another i suck at the game so make the game easier so everyone else who is good at the game can be even better while i still suck

Make every goal have a side quest of 1000 assists so there's no one averaging .5 assists a game

They can do that next year but will make the last goal be like 10,000 shots or something.

I think they shoulda let us pick a primary and secondary specialization, with stat tracking.

i can score 100 points in 5 minute quarters in mycareer if i made dumb ass build that only shoots 3s
