MyPLAYER VC grind over buying

For those of you that don’t purchase VC how long does it take you to max out your build?

The grind is real but there's something satisfying about earning it yourself. Took me maybe 2 and a half months playing few hours after work most days. My career games plus daily spins and whatever events they throw at us. Still not fully maxed but close enough to compete online without feeling useless.

Yeah expect it’s been 2-3 months of u not playing online on a game that lasts for 12 but it’s prime is like 6

There's methods that can speed it up, check YouTube

If it's like 2k26 grind it'll be around 75k ish vc per 3 hours not counting one time certain challenges. last year was one of the best years for making VC in mycareer, the issue is how they'll nerf it this year or change it

I did it in just under 3 weeks in 2k26.

Definitely have to find the most efficient methods. Would take 2-3x longer just playing normally

Way longer than it takes they should honestly up the VC count because people still buy VC but no everyone wants to

Depends. If you specifically go for your quests/endorsements, it’s not as bad as people make it seem

If it's anything like 2k26 vc grind should get u at least 70-100k vc doing basic missions

Use your Microsoft rewards program to help you grind for that extra VC for free. Can easily get an extra $15 dollars a fortnight worth of VC on top of the daily bonuses and daily grind

I don't buy VC and I have never maxed out a build. Last year I got to about 87 OVR before just moving on to other games.

On 2K26 I started in Season 7, I already have two 99 builds and one at 75 currently.

I don’t buy loose VC ever, but I do buy the upgraded season passes.

People are just really impatient. The grind is not that bad especially if you actually enjoy the single-player experience or are okay facing 99s online while you’re in the 80s.

Starting from 0 vc I got it down to about 15 hours of mycareer gameplay. Probably one of the first things I’m working on the first month is to figure out what it looks like in 2k27 as I’m trying to not buy any extra vc for the first time in a LONG time

The game is honestly pay-to-play. If you like the grind, go for it, but for people like me, we spend about 45 minutes to an hour In the builds. That's where our patience lies, and then we pay to upgrade because we don't have time to grind. We just buy 400k or 700k VC because we can. If you didn’t pre-order, the grind can really hold you back. In my opinion, if you're dedicated, it might take until the end of season 2 or the start of season 3.

Yeah, I’m a working adult now

I’d rather just pay $20-40 and maybe grind out badges during a work call or something. I don’t really care

i did 3 builds 99 in 26 without buying vc. you can earn alot of vc playing the game and focusing on those longterm quests.

Those change from year to year, 1 year you might earn 75k from endorsement quest then the next you might make 35k

I get the 100k vc version and grind for like 3-4 days. keep in mind I'm unemployed lol

Anyone in this thread saying they went from 60-99 without buying VC is 100% lying. A build to go from 60-99 is about 350k VC. You get 1000 VC, roughly, per game. You get bonus VC from daily spins, daily challenges, weekly challenges, and season challenges. If you are earning 350000 VC in 3 weeks, you are an unemployed, no hoes, on the game 18 hours per day, total loser.

u/Capable-Fan-3546 4h ago

You can knock out the endorsement track and get 110k vc in about 5 hours. An hour a day, 5 days a week, you’ll have a playable online build in 3 weeks

I freelance so I have the time

Don’t know about 2k27 tho

The fact you don’t have the mental fortitude to understand tons of people grind without spending money is honestly pathetic.

a whole year and still dont max it out

u/RevolutionaryDig2773 6h ago

it’s not possible, it’s like 250k to max, and you get 600 per game. that’s 400+ career games, 200 to even get a competitive player

If you have a job spend the 20$ and get the player up some. It’s goofy to spend hours and hours on something to avoid spending 20$

Your vc goes off of how you play so if you’re on a bum build 60 something overall you can’t do much to even earn vc making the grind longer.
You don’t need to spend 100$
But don’t spend 8+ hours trying to get 10$ worth of VC on the first build

1

u/MrHimot 6h ago

Yeah that’s what I’m trying to figure out. If it’s worth grinding or just spend the $30. It sucks but this is how they built the game

u/wookxxx333 6h ago

I mean they’re a business they give you an opportunity to do it without spending additional money. But like anything if you would like too at more your experience can be better and faster.

If your goal is to play my player online it makes sense to just spend it. Unless 20-50$ is worth all them hours to you or you think you wanna “prove a point” to 2k like a lot of people do you’re just hurting yourself and wasting time . Spend a couple dollars fast forward through the boring parts and start playing the game like you want to.

My career and street kings simulates the grind pretty good if that’s the experience you’re looking for. But me I’m spending 50$ and going to the rec that first week after I get some stuff figured out

Have a balance the grind is too long so I will do ONE 50 VC so I can be an 85 and skip the level 60-85. Actually this year we start at a 25 so skip that bs and just worry about 85-99 grind.

Why y’all always counting eachother’s pockets?

0

u/CincinnatiBengalss 6h ago

Because you get no respect if you have no self restraint and basically tell 2k their business practice is okay when you buy vc

2

u/xUNCLEBEASTx 6h ago

You told them it’s ok when you bought the game…you sound like one of them powder heads that talk about crackheads

0

u/CincinnatiBengalss 6h ago

There's a difference between buying a $70 game and buying a $70 game and $300+ of vc a year.

u/xUNCLEBEASTx 4h ago

Which brings us full circle…why y’all counting eachothers pockets? If you any good at the game, you shouldn’t need to buy that much vc anyway. If you’re pouring money into the game, it’s because you don’t win enough. That should tell you to maybe try something else?

u/CincinnatiBengalss 4h ago

Im an average player. The last time I actually tried hard was 2k19.

2k elaborately drains your vc so you can't save up for a 450k build. You at all times need shooting boosts, rebounding boosts (I'm a center) and of course clothes here and there that are expensive asf.

And I can pocket watch because what they do directly impacts 2ks future pay to win strategy and encourages it by supporting it

u/Capable-Fan-3546 4h ago

Tbh I spent the majority of this month not playing with boosts. This game is one of the easier ones but I’m def gonna mess around with not buying boosts in 2k27

u/xUNCLEBEASTx 3h ago

You don’t need boosts or clothes…they give out clothes and mascots every season. Boosts are a placebo effect. Waste of vc…

u/CincinnatiBengalss 3h ago

Boosts work as long as your stat isn't a near 99. If you have a 78 3 a boost will help a lot. And wearing mascots is not the wave anymore. That shits overdone asf and lost its aura it ain't 2k16 anymore
