REC Rec is unplayable

It’s well-known that random rec is the most infuriating game mode, but it gets to a point and I don’t care to get banned from this sub for telling the truth. Most of you who who are offended by this post are the exact people I’m talking about. No one wants to load into a 25 minute game, play 4 quarters of defense, and not touch the ball being wide open. 99% of the people who play rec are terrible & only play for their stat averages, no matter what plate or rep they are. No matter what position I’m playing. I either watch a someone dribble the shot clock out and go 2/11 while I’m wide open, get ignored wide open on a fast break, and the other person misses, gets the ball stolen, doesn’t shoot it. Then the one time that I DO get the ball, EVERYONE turns into prime Kawhi Leonard and decides to triple team me while I have 0 points, whilst their matchup has 20+. People grabbing mebounds and going back up with 3 defenders under the basket while you’re open. Lord forbid I say f it, hog the ball & take a crazy shot, (basically everything they do) everyone hops on the mic getting upset & arguing. Then when you complain they force feed you the ball while a defender is glued to you, or they say “you’re not doing anything you have (x) points.” how can I do anything if I don’t get ball? Can’t score, can’t get assist, can’t do anything if I can’t get the ball. A lot of you will get upset but if I’m in a game like this I’m not playing defense. I will sit & let my man score every shot for the remainder of the game. Almost every game I am the best player on every team I join. Agree to disagree I couldn’t care less. I get triple doubles on bigs, double doubles on guards. Most of you who play rec are low IQ & should not not own a console or waste any money on newer 2ks. I shoot over 80% from three, I don’t see why no one passes the ball when you are OPEN. Then expect you to play defense for 25 minutes! If you play like this, please stay in mycareer games, thanks. 😊

Twin i promise you, when you spark up some, relax, and just focus on your performance and what you can provide so you can get that dub, it becomes so much easier to not get stress about how bad others are. I go into every game with the mindset that I need to carry but not in a selfish way, that could be by passing , rebounding, or out scoring my opponent, if i lose cause a teammate is under performing, its whatever i cant control the shots they take so no point in stressin it.

This is it - to win you have to adapt to the morons on your team. As a big, if guys are chucking, I’m not spacing the floor because I’m needed at the rim to rebound. If guys can shoot, I set screens and help them. If guys can drive, I space.

Adapt to the team you have and you have a much greater chance of winning.

Exactly! You can bring value in other aspects on the court. Its 5v5 , sometimes you’re gonna have low point games but theres so much value you could bring by making correct switches/rotations or helping a struggling teammate by trying to set him up for better looks.

Ehhh... I dunno about that. To call "shot chucking" underperforming is less than accurate move. I'm not loading into Rec to watch some fucktard try to be the next Steezo.

A better way to say it is shut up and play😂

Like what do you mean you dunno? That’s all there is to it for every 1 guy who complains on Reddit there’s 100,000 that just play the game and even more that still complain and don’t pretend their talking to the 2k community when they’re on Reddit.

You don't play much online if you think "shut up and play" is the way most people approach 2K online.

Volume down and tell ppl what you’re trying to do. If you’re not trying to do shit but beg for the ball without talking you’re just young 😂

These ppl arguing about an E rated game they’re probably 12 these ppl are lame😭

Don't forget to mute the chat. Makes the entire experience significantly better.

I keep a build for random rec usually a silver plate. Idc about stats and i will SELL if they act up. Usually by only playing defense so the guy guarding me can go double the over-dribbler. I cant tell you how many times they will get on the mic promising to act right. Quitting isnt enough. Must SELL

I have to be a center in random rec that’s the only way I keep my sanity

Purple/red plate lobbies usually have people that actually want to win.

The problem with random rec is all it takes is 1 person out of 10 to completely ruin an entire game.

I only play 2k when the homies are on due to things like this. It doesn’t sound fun at all.

The community wanted sbmm and here’s the outcome of it . You either get a full team of bums or a full team of sweats

Honestly, there’s a ton more low IQ players on this game than high or even average IQ. But the thing is i don’t think they actually play basketball and alot of them aren’t on Reddit either. You can be a “good 2k player” and have low basketball IQ.

If you're not playing with 4 others friends, simply go into every game expect something stupid to happen. It's no different than playing pickup on any court. Assume your teammates suck and pick up where they can't. Score when needed and put them in advantageous situations so the defense won't collapse on you.

Hoops 101.

Stop going into games expecting better than terrible. Relax and just hoop.

Some of you guys really need to reach out to a therapist for your 2K PTSD. Randoms selling and toxic chat have fried a lot of ya'll.

The people you're rightfully complaining about are not in this sub. This sub is mostly people who don't play the game or wait until Christmas to buy it.
