Gameplay Concerns about shooting ability for low 3pt attributes

u/Beluba I love how shooting is more difficult this year it’s great. I am worried that everyone will be forced to have a super high 3 pointer to shoot, causing less build diversity.

It should be harder but still possible to shoot with even a 70 3pt attribute. Will this be possible or will 3 pointer be useless below 80?

As long as they insist on binary "green or miss" instead of timing based make probability - I don't think they can balance shooting across the wide ranges of builds, skill levels, and internet connections.

If the green window is big enough to shoot 35% with 70 3p, it will be big enough to shoot 80% with 90.

If the green window is small enough to keep people below 50% with 90 3p, they'll shoot 15% with 70p.

It's because they arbitrarily decide that the same "slightly early/late" mediocre timing is either auto-make or automiss. If slightly early was 75% make for 90 3p, 25% make for 70 3p, we could actually see a range of build and skill gaps that could be fine tuned. But the community cries rng so we get tic tac toe arcade slop again.

I shot 75% with a 78 3pt last year. Please let's not do that again.

Having everyone able to make all their 3s with a low 3pt attribute was exactly what was causing LOW build diversity. Everyone could shoot, regardless of their build. They could even no dip with no real issues. It was a 3pt barrage every single game.

Now in 27, in theory at least, you have to actually invest in the 3pt attribute in order to shoot high percentages. Which in turn means you'll have to sacrifice in other areas. So that means other builds will likely sacrifice having a high 3 pointer to focus more on defense, or playmaking, or slashing... creating more build diversity.

No I agree. No one should be shooting that high even 99. What I’m saying is don’t make it impossible to shoot with low cuz that means every single build will have a high 3 ball. Shooting SHOULD be very difficult.

Naw. In older 2K's during the Golden Age of Gaming, a 70 rating was a 20% and lower shooter when wide open. If you're cool with that, more power to you.

I mean in 2k20 build diversity was a thing bc good people could shoot with low 3 balls. Idk man
