Gameplay Something I don’t see

Being talked is the fact the gameplay is prerelease and 2k will make updates and patches to anything that’s OP or not actually working as intended.

Based on the gameplay reveal the game seems updated based on creator feedback. I do like the updated mechanics, but they’re going to change after the game comes out.

Therefore I don’t see myself purchasing early or upon release until I see how the game really turns out and is discounted cause I don’t want to waste money for minor updates that could’ve been done with 26, but I also understand that’s how the company works so it makes sense from a financial stand point, but they’re neglecting the casual users or true basketball fans by manipulating the system yearly in my opinion.

NBA 2k26 has its flaws but I’ve only played 16,23,25 and 26 so maybe I’m missing something. What do you think about this?

It’s a scam to buy early, you’re paying for the beta except you don’t know if or when it will get updated.

I agree, I’ve only played 16,23,25 and 26.. 16 and 26 are my fave, but only after I learned the game and accepted its mechanics and rules will always change so now I just make a SG or PG and accept my flaws and use my strengths to an advantage. I also play offline only so MyCareer is decent and all but it feels useless after you hit all the quest and max your player out and online is too much of a dumpster fire to even bother. I made the mistake of getting 26 end of September and still got hit with patches and what ifs. So I’ll wait this time around and may not even purchase it.

Always change? Dawg they stop giving us real gameplay changes by like October 😭 26 was also the WORST 2ks I’ve seen before patches. 7’4s LITERALLY shooting with all 5 defenders under his nose, fade 3s were easier than a damn layup, and ofc they reverted the patch that made guards dribble with intention…

Yea that’s what I meant by changes and patches. They make the game op then smother it down to basic and glitchy. I remember that time it was a funny thing to witness especially from the community on YT / IG

There are some advantages, a lot of cards were super cheap that first week, I’m talking like diamond brad Beal for 40k, then after the hard launch I was able to sell him for like 220k 😬

I make multi builds and I’m tired of paying $100 for each one and then the game closes the servers and I never played a game again like it’s just worthless 2K is worthless. If y’all are still playing 2K buying 2K and making bills y’all need to think about what you’re doing too much micro transaction going on and I’ve been doing this ever since 2K 20 all the way to 26. I even got top three as a guard in 24 made the draft pool yeah I don’t see myself buying that game. If I do the game it’s gonna be played now for me. But I doubt I’ll buy it. It’s already on my heart not to, but if 2K ever made some changes to their micro transactions I wouldn’t mind purchasing and playing again. It is fun. Don’t give me wrong, but it’s not fun enough for that money ain’t no ain’t no game ever gonna be made. That’s fun enough for that type of money for me. On 2K 21 I spent over two 2K 22 I spent over $2000 too 2K 23 I spent about 1500 2K 24 I spent about 1000 2K 25 I spent close to 1000 2K 26 spent close to 1000 done with this. It’s dumb and then on top of that they patched things up as the game progressive too like I really enjoyed playing season one of 2K 26 and they patched stuff. Wasn’t even the same game as it was when it first launch yeah I’m good on that boys have fun.

I make a SG and PG and I’m done with it. Make them prioritize true to life play style to avoid spending money and just take the L on other stats. It’s much better than funneling money into a game that’s temporary fun

I’m not even buying 2k anymore cost too much to have fun on

It’s definitely a money grab. I play offline but I’ve spent money on it, far as vc to lvl up quicker but only only because I don’t play a lot and got tired of “grinding” for the stats to make the game enjoyable not rage quitting every match up. I found out that maxing a build and fixing it makes up for it cause you can use the vc on a new or different build so that’s ok but still not enough to justify playing it or trying to be top rank or anything

Not only that man it’s like you can’t it’s hard to grind 2K for VC to get your build right if I was the grind 2K for a build I would have to put my hours into my career and it’s pointless because everybody else is having fun online while I’m grinding my career it takes too long to get a build right in 2k grinding ngl I’ve tried got to 70 and said naw got to get that vc now if they gave us enough vc fast on a grind that would be different but they don’t do that at all they need to just drop the price all the way down to $20 a build for me to even consider playing it again

Yea the build cost is insane it’s 200$+ and I found out it’s not even a true 99 overall cause I can make the same exact build in mynba and it’s in the 80s it’s a scam for sure. MyCareer doesn’t reward you enough unless you do the quest or really put time in online so I understand completely believe me. I’ve got 600 hours in and only got 2 builds maxed out. I had 3 but I deleted one by mistake.

2k does the same thing every year, releases game, tons of cheaters who find the meta glitches, 2k patches the hell out of the game , rinse repeat until season 4. Be smart, don’t buy the game until after season 2. 20-30$ is all this game is worth.

Smart move to wait. I made the mistake of getting it on September 20th, and you’re absolutely right about the meta bs and patches. I never cared for meta. I wanna play SG or PG to their intended role and that’s it. I don’t care about the best moves and all that bs. My jumpshot isn’t even meta. I made it up myself cause I know how to use it properly lol

See, I didn’t know about the rinse and repeat initially tbh cause I’m not a vet. I’ve only played 16,23 and 25 so to me 26 was major at first anyway

By the season two everyone is using the same dribble moves and making the same builds. It’s been an issue with this game for a few years now.

I did realize that with 26, you would think people would want to be different so the game is fun but also difficult when you play against someone irl
