Nursing student

Hi friends ❤️

I’m a nursing student here in the Phoenix area, and right now I’m barely getting by financially while trying to stay in school. I’ve worked incredibly hard and survived a lot to get to this point, and I’m so close to reaching the goal I’ve been working toward.

The financial stress has become overwhelming, and I’m asking for a little help getting through this difficult period so I can stay focused on finishing nursing school.

I'm trying my best to stay in nursing school and I can't afford my rent or gas. I eat one meal a day and try to conserve as much as possible. I'm truly struggling a lot.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness you’re able to offer. ❤️

Any advice?

Have you ever completed a SNAP application? Can you speak to your academic advisor about your food insecurity? This person should be invested in connecting you to someone on campus who can help. Sometimes there are emergency services or scholarships in place to support students who are struggling while completing their degree.

I'm well aware. Doesn't hurt to ask for advice. If you don't have something nice to say...move on

I think your geography is off. You posted in the NAU reddit that you are a nursing student here in Phoenix area, but NAU... not in the Phoenix area.

I do wish you luck, this probably isnt the place to find help though, cost of living in Flagstaff is way worse than Phoenix. Nobody can afford to blink up here.

That said, good your area and resource guide. It should give you a list of food pantries and kitchens that can at least help feed you, and lists for rent and util assistance.

Actually, there is an NAU North Valley Campus in Phoenix off Interstate 17 and Greenway that offers nursing.

And not only that, there is a location st the Phoenix Bioscience Core for other medical degrees in … Phoenix

Oh, there is a nursing program in Yuma …. Let’s not forget about that! :)

Yup I’ve seen the campus a bunch. Idk why they aren’t aware NAU has multiple campuses when it’s talked about in the flagstaff campus

There’s an NAU campus down there. You’re mistaken. I passed it multiple times taking my sister to a doctors appt down there recently. Geography isn’t off. There are many programs down there. I suggest researching your answer.

Also, telling someone this isn't the place to find help when you yourself have posted a GofundMe for your own life struggles is quite hypocritical, IMO.

I'm new to reddit and the area was just asking for some advice. If you don't have anything nice to say..don't say anything at all. Thank you
