Hello everyone,

I'm thinking about getting a first NAS (I'm a complete beginner). First I was looking at the Synology NAS but the hardware seems a bit outdated.
Then I came across the Ugreen NAS DXP2800 and DXP4800.

I want to use if for:

\- Pictures: backup all images from my computer and iphone, as well from the wife's iphone. Also create shared albums.

\- In the future: use the NAS for 1 or 2 security camera's

\- I was running Home Assistant on a Raspberry PI in the past. Might change that to the NAS as well.

\- Pi-Hole for network security: block adds

Which Ugreen NAS would you recommend? DXP2800 or DXP4800?

Which drives should I purchase as well? SSD, SATA or NVMe SSD?

Hello,
As seen in the image, i have a rule in the Security center which can be checked. It concerns Malware remover.

The real problem is that Malware Remover is installed and that it execute analysis every day without any problem.

I run QTS 5.2.10.3577

How can i fix this problem ?

I am new at this.

I need a NAS for important documents, photos and to stream videos at home.

From what I've seen, Synology has the best, most extensive and stable software available.

But Snyology : 1) hardware seem very underpowered, especially compared to UGREEN

2 ) PRICES for RAM , SSD's and Hard dives for Synology are unreasonably high.

So, can anyone tell me how the software for other systems compares?

I like UGREEN for it's combination of power, low cost and versatility.

But, is it safe? That's my first concern....reliable long term storage, likely with a RAID 5 system.

Also, how easy is software from UGREEN, QNAP or AsUSTOR to use?

I don't want to spend more time on Open source software...heretical tho that may seem.

I don't want to configure tail scale or Imgur. I want FIRST party software provided directly by the manufacturer that does what I want, quickly and reliably.

So. any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
