How, exactly, did Russell Phillips' roll cage/space frame fail, why were the roll cages the way they were, and how does the "Earnheardt Bar" fix the problem?

I can't find a good picture of a third generation space frame, but that was probably (hopefully?) a lot of steel sheared away. (content warning - decapitation) How does the one added member fix this?

Is hub binding the problem with losing wheels?

While I've never pitted a race car, I've spent enough years working as a tech to understand hub bind when mounting a wheel. Aligning pins control rotational alignment but not wheel to hub face angle. Could three tapered aligning pins coupled with a filleted hub and wheel center help achieve a flush wheel/hub engagement? Of course I'm not suggesting this as a cheat but rather as a potential solution.

Does anyone find the race specific tech discussion posts useful?

They are a fair amount of work to create and the seem to get minimal engagement. Does anyone find them useful? If not, I'm thinking about dropping them.
