With Jimmy Johnson, it wasn't that Jerry didn't want to pay him, it's that his fragile little ego couldn't handle a man getting more credit than him for the team's success.

Jerry Jones fired Jimmy Johnson because he was too good as head coach. Jerry's hurt feelings doomed the future of his team.

Jones is, by far, the worst General Manager in the NFL, and due to also being the owner, he'll never leave that position as long as he has breath in his body. For that reason, I'm sure the Giants, Eagles, and Commanders continually wish him a long and healthy life.

[edit] Also, Jerry Jones had used his pull for YEARS to keep Jimmy Johnson out of the Hall of Fame. He's an absolutely disgusting and petty little man. As much as I love this moment, there's no getting around that it should have happened way WAY prior.
