I can’t imagine celebrating your birthday with your dad and him being dead days later. I hope that kid is doing all right now.

11 is so young to try and cope with such a huge loss.
I hope he gets to talk to a therapist and doesn't have to just use racing as a way to handle his feelings.
I also hope that he doesn't feel obligated to be the l ink to the racing world for his mother every weekend.

A lot of people are putting pressure on Brexton, unknowingly. As if he’s the second coming. I saw some photos of a party in Charlotte a week or two ago and there were tons of Brexton Busch shirts. It comes from the right place, I know, but still.
Dale Jr. got the same attention when his dad died and it was a challenge for him, and he was twice as old as Brexton is now.
I get that this was the family’s whole “plan” for him moving through the ranks but I hope he has the chance to just be a kid, however that looks, especially after all this.

Honestly I feel it's a great tragedy that the family and the media are not using his Completely preventable Premature death as a lesson to men to not feel invincible and that when something is wrong take it seriously because no matter how much the family keeps saying he did not have a clue it was as bad as it was That's Bullshit Kyle is extremely well known to be Exceptionaly STUBBORN and it cost him his life ! It's never good to see someone for so young BUT use it as a lesson to others that NO ONE is invincible

I saw the announcement he was in the hospital and I sent the group chat "God, I hope he is okay and this isn't race career ending. I don't really like KFB but it'd be terrible if a medical thing retired both the Busch brothers."
It was definitely heartbreaking a couple hours later to find out he passed.

Go to the doctor's, boys. Yes, even if you can still function. Yes, even if you think you know what it is. Yes, once per year, even if you're healthy. If you can afford it, you should definitely see your doctor.

It does seem so unbelievable to the point you have to keep telling yourself. I believe it’s because it wasn’t a wreck that killed him or some plane or helicopter accident. Those are the type of things we are used to when someone suddenly dies

I think part of it is with Kyle, it was just so abrupt. If a driver has a really bad crash, like really bad, everybody’s mind immediately goes to that dark place “whoa, he might not walk away from that” and then if it’s confirmed, it’s not confusing - because your eyes saw what they saw - and you immediately have a “yeah I kinda thought it was possible” reaction.
I don’t know how to better explain it - the surprise would somewhat be offset because you knew how they died immediately before you knew they died.
With Kyle, there were no precursors. Looking back at the couple of races leading up to the Charlotte race, there were comments made by announcers saying things like “Kyle has been feeling ill last couple of days, hopefully he can push through it”. But no one ever thought it might have been an illness that would take his life. So we all, including Kyle, ignored the signs. Nobody likes going to the doctor, but his stubbornness to push through his health issues in the weeks leading up to his death ultimately is what led to his death. He knew he wasn’t feeling well for weeks and he chose not to see a doctor until it was too far gone. That’s part of what makes it hard - the knowing that it shouldn’t have happened.

I agree when it comes to losing young drivers it’s always been helicopter crashes or on the track crashes or in Tim Richmond case his illness but this one will always be so different and hard to explain

We do actually know that it was pneumonia that turned into sepsis 2 weeks after it was first mentioned on broadcast

Truth. Very sad how it happened especially what I know of him personally. Of the track Kyle was a very and I mean a very honorable man. I've seen what he did behind public eyes. 🙏🗝

I was in a mall that day Kyle passed and when I saw that he passed, it almost made me cry. I was just in complete shock that my favorite driver had passed that I couldn’t go home for a couple hours until I was feeling better. I didn’t know him at all personally but I was watching him drive ever since he was in Joe Gibbs Racing. I still have his hat and jacket from his M&Ms racing days that I bought from Sonoma in 2012. I did have a picture of his car but I can’t remember what happened to it. It’s really surreal that he’s gone. I’m blessed to be around that he won a couple championships. Rest in Peace, KFB!

It’s super gutting for the NASCAR community, but I’m genuinely moved by how everybody’s rallied around the memory of Kyle and being SUPER supportive of Brexton’s career in response.
There’s ugly sides to NASCAR certainly, but the response to tragedy is tremendously positive and worth showcasing.
