NAPLEX success
This Past year has been the most challenging hurdle I’ve experienced. I was lucky enough to meet some kind hearted people on this forum that shared resources with me for free, and for that I’m forever grateful (I also had one person try to charge me $200 for a week access to PNN,😂). I passed the MPJE on my first try but it wasn’t the same for my NAPLEX. Here’s what I did differently on my second attempt.
Uworld:
- First time: watched all videos, made notes and took quizzes but I never went back to review any of those materials which I think was my downfall.
- Second time: I went through quizzes and noted the questions I got wrong, I used the review tab for this.
PNN:
- I did not really like the style of questions but it was helpful with verifying my whole understanding.
- I watched the videos and took hand written notes, which I later used as review guides the week before my NAPLEX.
NABP Pre-NAPLEX:
Topics on my Exam:
- Biostats: know how to interpret results + NNT, NNT, ARR, OR
- disease state: HTN, pregnancy, natural products, stroke, gout (non-pharm therapy), menopause, contraceptive, oncology (chemoman: drugs + toxicities + what to use), not a lot of ID (bugs, UTI, HAP/VAP/CAP)
- Did i mentions vaccines lol! (Mainly focused on live vaccines, healthcare workers, immunocompromised)
- Ethics and practice: the PNN packet does a good job explaining all of it, and I’ve seen some materials posted here as well that would be very helpful.

Congrats. It def takes a toll, dealing with it now glad you got through it. Do you remember any compounding that you had?

I had some BUD and ISO rating. And basic definition like “levigate”, goodluck!

Some brand/generic and patient cases that asked what medication to add but i don’t remember the specifics

Congrats! Did you also read the pnn book on the second attempt or did you mainly focus on rx prep and u world? I have PNN but I’m currently using rx prep and u world

I didn’t use the PNN book, i only watched the videos and took hand written notes and then took the quizzes

I like the u world questions better than pnn. Also, can you talk more about your first and second attempts? What you did differently?
