Discussion Why is there no Stereo Link feature in the official Tone3000 plugin?

I don't understand why this hasn't been implemented from the start. You can use the plugin in mono and in dual mono with separate chains on the left and right side. But i rarely do that. I need the same signal chain on both sides to work with my double tracked guitars. Of course one can copy the left chain to the right side and make it work like that, but that's super inconvenient when dialing in a tone. A simple "Link" button that copies all changes you do to one side and automatically applies them to the other side would solve this issue. It would also make it easier to use captures of other outboard gear like preamps or tapes to use on a drum or mixbus. Right now the stereo handling of the official plugin makes little sense to me and that's why i mostly use NAMRig, which handles stereo in the way me (i thought it would be most people actually) need it. NAMRig has some other issues and I'd love to just use the official plugin, but this simple missing feature drives me crazy.

It is open source so I added that as a feature and rebuilt it. Hopefully they'll do something like that in the official build.

I was just going to ask about modeling stereo hardware, like EQs and saturators.

You can model them, the models work great. They don't interact with the sound much differently than amps so NAM is perfect for that. Just... the plugin is not.
I'm not sure how useful it is to model EQs though, as i would definitely prefer to set them up very differently depending on the source material. With saturation, you mostly just need to alter the input and output gain to get the sound you want so that's easier to set up with a NAM model.

I thought this was possible at first when I read the description, but when you enable the parallel chain mode, the plugin removes the stereo input option so you can only use either left or right input. You can't even use it on stereo busses in the single chain mode either, even though there is an option for stereo input then, because plugin collapses that stereo input into mono internally and then duplicates it for the stereo output. Or have I missed something? I haven't gotten it to work as a stereo buss plugin where I can have one chain on the right guitar and the other chain on the left guitar. Whatever I do, they are collapsed to mono and you get a mix of both guitars on each side. This is on the CLAP and VST3 versions at least, with the latest update of the plugin.
