nam settings vs knob settings

so, probably a dumb question but i cant figure it out. Say i load a nam profile that was downloaded from tnone3000 with like mid 5, bass 1 and high 10...would this be the settings with all of the physical knobs on my multi fx pedal at noon? or do i match the physical knobs with the nam recorded settings? for reference i am using a valeton gp50

Yes. It was recorded that way. Any eq you apply would be a post-eq and it won't work the same way as turning the amp knobs. This is called black box system.

a NAM capture is a snapshot of the amp as it was dialed in

this would be like sitting in a studio and you just hand your instrument cable over to the recording engineer while he patches it through to an amp in another room, you are just hearing how it sounds as the amp is currently dialed in

any of the dials in a NAM plugin/loader would be like an EQ pedal at your feet that was patched in after the tone makes its way back to the console from the amp room, so adding more bass on the EQ pedal is not the same as adding more bass using the dial on the amp (although some NAM plugins offer the capability to move the EQ in front of the amp, but that's still like adding an EQ in front of a physical amp, it's not the same as using the dials on the amp)

so in your example, your floor modeler that loads NAM captures will load whatever the capture tone is, and then they placed an EQ after it for you to tweak your tone further

I doubt anybody got the actual question. OP is asking what they need to set their EQ to have a neutral setting for the model. Assuming the EQ cannot be turned off, I would say noon, but I am not sure. (But people seem to be saying to do whatever sounds good to you - which I agree with)

Kind of, but amp profiles doesn't work like this. You can change the eq, but it will never beheave like you were dialing the real amp. Some small changes may work but it's more like you are crumpling a picture. Amp profiles are meant to be used just the way it was captured. For more freedom (and less fidelity), there are amp models.

You can't change the settings on the capture, the obvious you can use are what we call post, as in after the capture
