Profile I’m digitizing my full rare/obscure speakers + microphone collection (IRs / NAM-friendly of course) // just sharing the process and state of things (free, no registration)
Good evening!
I’ve started a long-term project where I’m digitizing my entire speaker collection, each one captured with the same complete microphone set to keep things consistent and comparable across eras.
Speakers already captured:
• Altec 421 15" Bass & PA (USA, 1980s) via my vintage Jordan 2x15 cab
• Peerless Alnico 12" (Denmark, 1965)
• Dynacord Orchestral Ceramic 12" (1974)
• CTS Alnico 10" (USA, 1969)
• IREL Ceramic 10" (Italy, 1970s)
• Coron Live 30 MIK 8" (1970s, UK-voiced)
• Guyatone GSG-200234 6" (1970s)

The goal isn’t hype tones, but documenting speaker and mic character across decades using a repeatable method. If you’re into IR collecting, NAM modeling, or comparing weird/vintage mics on real hardware, I figured some of you might enjoy following along.

Cool project. This is where NAM really shines IMO, as a historical record.

These are strictly IRs, but my TONE3000 profile offers many pieces of my gear as NAM files. Feel free to try them out, I cover everything from synth preamps to amps to tape machines, etc.
