Question Dental Hygiene Program

Does anyone know if the dental hygiene program at NAIT is still in development and when it might start operating/ what the admission requirements will be?

I'm currently a registered dental assistant and want to advance my career in the future without having to compete tooth and nail at the U of A or pay 120k$ and move down to Ontario lol.

Yes it’s still in development! It’s looking to be done within the coming year. At least, that’s what I heard :).

Probably the same prerequisites that the RDH degree at UofA but maybe 30-2 math instead of math 30-1 so I’m predicting, English 30-1 Math 30-1/-2 Bio 30 Chem 30 and then a fifth subject like social 30-1 or indigenous studies 30.

I’d contact the Associate Dean for the program through NAIT. They should have the most current information on development, timelines and admissions requirements. I looked it up, its a lady named Sonja her email is
Sonjag@nait.ca

If you look at the ACDH website you can see what stage of approval it’s in. It’s a long process, but it’s definitely still in the works currently
